We're All In with Dreamweaver All in Ones!

This week the Stampendous team have been sharing the newly-released "All in One" stamps for the fall and holiday season. Today, you may see a few of those mixed in with Dreamweaver backgrounds, along with Embossing Paste, etc., but for Dreamweaver Thursday, we'd also like to remind you that Dreamweaver by Stampendous has a great selection of "all in ones" as well.

My post today features, once again, the Season of Joy stencil, but this time I've paste-embossed the design in Matte Black. Once dry, I replaced the clean stencil over the surface, and daubed VersaMark ink over the surface to act as a fixative for the next step...applying beautiful mica Metallic F/X* powders in yummy colors like Sapphire, Wedgewood, Ivy Garden, Cocoa, Red Kimono, Goldfinch, Pewter, and Moonlight.

The top of the panel was torn, and VersaMark brushed over the edges before applying more Goldfinch over the edge. Sprinkles of Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Enamel was sprinkled over the panel, as well as the blue card base, and heated from underneath to melt into beautiful snowy magic.

Now, if you are thinking that the purpose of using an "all in one" image is to save time, you are totally correct. But nothing says that you can't created something extra special for that special someone in your life. Many of the stencil designs also come in an embossing folder for a super-quick "all in one". Just emboss the design into nice cardstock, brush with a soft ink (like Tsukineko's Gold or Silver Delicata), or if embossed into Core'dinations cardstock, just sand over the embossed areas to highlight the design, or ink through the stencil onto a richly colored cardstock, sprinkle with one of the Stampendous beautiful Fran•tagĂ© Embossing Enamels, and heat, or....well you get the picture...all in one!
Let's see how our other Dreamweaver Thursday posters interpret this challenge...

*Note: the Metallic F/X powders are not on the Stampendous website, however, they can be purchased through the site. Just add them into the comment section of your order. Or, you can purchase them at one of the local stores listed on the website, as well as the Stencil with Style site.

"Let it Go" and "Build a Snowman" with Stampendous and Dreamweaver

So...maybe there's no snow to play in, but I bet your favorite paper-crafting buddy would love to play in all of the Stampendous/Dreamweaver winter images and stencils, like the ones shown here!

For my post, I've mixed the Stampendous Build a Snowman set (Copic colored and fussy cut), with the Dreamweaver Snowflakes Background, which I've pasted in regular Embossing Paste, and covered in Stampendous' new Sparkle Puff Embossing Powder. Between the puff in the paste and the puff in the powder, once heated, these flakes are super dimensional. Brushed over with a bit of Tsukineko® VersaMagic ink in Sea Breeze to highlight the designs, and bring the design together, they really stand out! The "snow banks" are sections cut from a panel of the Dreamweaver Christmas Borders Embossing Folders on white cardstock, and brushed with the same ink as before along with Pretty Petunia color as well.

The sentiment stands out by die cutting and layering it from the small frames on the Stampendous Pop Up Dies set. The finishing touch? You guessed it! Pom poms on the hats!

Take a refreshingly chilly journey around the web to visit the rest of the team as they post with some more snowy fun!

Pretty in Paste: Day Four...Dreamweaver Thursday

Have you seen enough embossing paste yet? Of course not! Dreamweaver's Embossing Pastes are so versatile and high quality, that everything you create with them becomes a work of art.

My card today features the same step-by-step process as I demonstrated in my tutorial on Monday, only using different stencils.

The Dreamweaver Snowflakes background stencil was paste-embossed in Pearlescent paste on a slate blue card, sprinkled with the Stampendous Ice Blue Specialty Enamel, and heated until bubbly and set.

I used the Oval Ornaments Nesting Dies to create one ornament, which I paste-embossed the Southwest Snowflake design in Silver paste, sprinkled this with Silver Embossing Powder, and heated until bubbly and set.

Just a few rhinestone stickers, and a swirl of silver tinsel cord finished off this icy blue textural greeting card.

Pretty in Paste: Day Three

k
Today's Pretty in Paste card features one of the Dreamweaver all-in-one designs...Season of Joy. The process is simple and effective:

1. Place stencil on panel of cardstock, and tape on all four sides with removable tape.
2. Place a large dab of Pearlescent Embossing Paste on edge of Paste Spreader using palette knife.
3. Place edge of spreader with paste at top of design. Hold spreader with your fingers splayed out over the curved handle, and pull the paste over the stencil in one smooth pass. If there are any gaps, dab a bit of paste in them with the tip of palette knife, and then use spreader to pass over surface once more.
4. Place excess paste back in jar. Wipe around the lip of jar with clean paper towel or rag, and seal.
5. Carefully remove tape from three sides, using the fourth as a hinge to lift the stencil up and off.
6. Immediately place stencil and tools in water to be cleaned when done.
7. Sprinkle wet paste with Stampendous Ice Blue Embossing Enamel, and heat until bubbly and set. Sprinkle a bit of Shabby White Embossing Enamel, and heat from underneath for a bit of "snow".
8. Mat the panel and adhere to card.

Stampendous: "Frolic and Play, the Eskimo Way!"

It's impossible to feel the winter drearies when frolicking and playing with this Cling Snowman Friends Trio from Stampendous. Just color them up in happy colors, add plenty of frosty Multi Crystal Glitter Mix, bright and sparkly snowflakes, and a fun banner to a simplistic igloo...and you'll be Eskimo kissing in SNOW time!

Just create an igloo-shaped card from Dotted Swiss Bazzill Basics cardstock in white. Die cut an oval from the front. Add a liner inside of a wintery patterned paper. Stamp and color the trio before cutting out and adhering to the inside oval with dimensional tape, along with a glittered strip from a Drip Border punch. Adhere a hill-and-valley folded base to show off the dimension of this design.  The banner was colored to match, and stamped with the Perfectly Clear Big Top Alphabet set. The end result is a fun display for the entire winter season!

If you've missed the first two days of this week's snowy challenge, be sure to head over to the Stampendous blog for more frosty fun! You'll also find the details for the December challenge for YOU by clicking HERE.

Dreamweaver: Have Yourself a Merry Quick and Cute Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone! Hopefully, you now have the opportunity to relax and enjoy and hurry and scurry of the past several weeks. As you know, this month the Dream Team have been all about the Quick and Cute...whether that be cards, gifts, wrapping, or tags...we've had sleigh-loads of ideas! We hope you've been able to play along by posting your creations using the Inlinkz tool on the Dream It Up! blog, for a chance to win the stencil of your choice, and a possible bonus stencil for using Dreamweaver products in your Quick and Cute project! Here's what fun I've been up to this week:

This card is completed quickly, and part of the fun is the polka-dotted paper from BoBunny, as it really gives the impression of a snowfall. I know several people who no longer mail Christmas cards before the holidays, but wait until the new year to send good wishes to friends and loved ones. This card would be perfect for this. The Dreamweaver Season of Joy stencil design is an all-in-one that with one swipe of regular embossing paste, and a sprinkle of Stampendous glitter, your focal panel is complete. Tear the edges if you desire, add a May Arts' silky bow, and you're done with a beautiful winter themed greeting.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday, and a spectacular new year!

I'd love to receive a comment from you before you head on to the rest of the "B" team:

Stampendous: Warm Wishes for the Season

What is your favorite season, and what is your favorite holiday from that season? For me, it's a bit of a toss up between Fall and Winter, but I know that I love the Christmas season...the decorations, the music, the food, and every year I hope for a bit of a White Christmas. Living in Southern California, this rarely happens, but I dream about it every year. And in my dreams, the view is much like the one in this framed Stampendous image.

The Christmas Cottage has been stamped with black Memento ink, and colored with Copic markers. Edges have been torn or rolled. A bit of VersaMark ink has been smeared to adhere some Fran•tagĂ© Essentials before heating and melding with a heat tool.

I found this great frame at my local TJ Maxx, which already had this faint pattern printed on it. I did add some Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Enamel, and a stamped and embossed sentiment create with the Perfectly Clear Alphabet.

I used bits of ric rac and woven ribbon from May Arts, printed buttons, twine, and a backing of paint-swiped patterned paper to complete my warm and cozy cottage in the country vision.

What are your visions for this season? Stamp and share them with the Stampendous team! If you haven't yet, be sure to visit the Stampendous Impressions blog for more seasonal fun!

Woodware UK: Monochromatic Does Not Mean Boring

The Woodware team have been challenged this week to create with a monochromatic Christmas theme by the Craftrange retail store in the UK. You can see what our team has been inspired to do with this challenge on the Woodware blog.

I love the look of white on white, especially for the holidays, so that's the direction that I went with for this challenge, adding a bit of silver as well. I paste-embossed in white the Dreamweaver Line of Christmas Trees stencil. While the paste was wet, I waterfalled Stampendous Crystal Glitter and Microfine Silver Glitter over each tree, one by one, pressing slightly to ensure great glitter coverage. When almost dry (10-15 minutes) I pressed a few Mark Richards Crystals and Pearls into the top of the trees. The panel was matted with silver mirror cardstock and mounted onto the white card. A scrap of mirror card was machine embossed with Dreamweaver's new small Merry Winter, but could easily be substituted for any of the small holiday sentiments.

This card was so simple to create, and would be fabulous done in multiples. As a matter of fact, I'm kind of thinking that this will most likely be the design I send out to friends and family this year. What do you think?

Each Layer is a New Beginning

I always believe that winter leads to a fresh start with spring, but there is a freshness in winter that is quiet and beautiful all on its own. I think this card that I created captures that feeling rather well. Featuring the new "Leafless Tree" stencil design from Dreamweaver, this card sort of grew organically. Lol. It began as a simply machine-embossed tree and bird on a panel of off-white cardstock. Hmmm. Then it needed something else. I started by using my Copic markers in a couple shades of gray to just add some shading. Hmmm. Still not enough, so I added more background color, some textural accents with a white gel pen, a contrast with the red bird. This is the point where I realized that I should have used more appropriate cardstock for coloring with Copics, as the blending was not as smooth as I would have liked. Hmmm. I covered the entire panel with Versamark ink, and embossed all in Stampendous Crystal Embossing Powder. Ooooh...nice and sparkly. Me likey! Now, how do I add a sentiment? Stamping on glitter never looks as crisp and clean as I'd like. But, I could stamp with StazOn on an acetate panel. So, I used the Stampendous Perfectly Clear Friendship Assortment for the perfect message. Of course, to adhere it over the top can be tricky as most adhesives will show through, and will not adhere to the glitter either. I chose to use a couple small pieces of super-sticky double-sided tape. Before applying, I scratched off the glitter where the adhesive would go, and applied the tape, and then the acetate panel.

The lesson learned? Never give up on your project! It may not come together like the vision in your mind, but something just as beautiful can appear, with just a bit of extra creativity!

We'd love to see YOUR creations for our monthly challenges. Please link them to the Dream It Up! blog, or email your creations to lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com, for a chance to win a fabulous prize of Dreamweaver product. Meanwhile, make the rounds to see what our clever girls have been up to this week:

Frosty Fun Finale

Here we are at the final week of December, and the final month of 2012, with all its joys and sorrows. The Dream Team is celebrating one final week of Frosty Fun, and we really want you to play along! Create something with our theme in mind and link it on the mr. linky on the Dream It Up! blog, or email pics to lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com, for an opportunity to win one of two prizes. Those who enter usually have their cards featured on the Dream It Up! blog and/or our Facebook page, which is always fun to see what everyone else is creating.

My creation here featured the Skates stencil once again, and was paste-embossed in silver on a die cut blue panel, to show off the shiny blades. Then I paper-pieced the actual skates in a fun plaid (I love plaid...must be the Scot in me!) The cute sentiment brad moves us away from a Christmas themed card, and just celebrates the fun of playing in the snow and ice.

Blessings to all of you in the new year. May 2013 be bountifully filled with love, laughter, and joy, with only a smidgen of sorrow to remind us of how fortunate we really are, and how important it is to care for those who are not.

CAS Frosty Fun

Pulling out another oldie but goodie from last year for the Frosty Fun challenge on the Dream It Up! blog this month. Less than two weeks away from Christmas, this is the perfect set of cards to create...CAS for multiples, and wonderful as a gift set as well.

Featuring the Antler Snowflake design with the Merry Winter sentiment, each card with a slightly different take on the theme. The two vertical cards were paste-embossed with Silver Embossing Paste. When dry, they were run through a hot laminator with silver or turquoise foil for plenty of shine. The carrier sheet from the turquoise one was saved to be laminated onto the square panel of the center card.

The sentiment was paste-embossed on the first card, and machine-embossed on silver cardstock with the other two cards.

The center card was also punched for added interest, and all three cards have additional bling in the form of turquoise rhinestone stickers.

Come play along with our Frosty Fun challenge, and email a link to your own creation, or email pics to lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com, for an opportunity to win one of two great prizes! For more info, visit the Dream It Up! blog. Be sure to check out the rest of the Dream Team post for this week:

Frosty Fun...Finally

Yes. It is me. I'm partially back in control of my blog now. Big thanks to Lynell for helping me out the last few weeks. My computer is now finally set up, temporarily in the dining room of our new home until my studio is finished. Sigh. Therefore, nothing new in the world of craftiness will be shown on my blog, so I thought that I'd repost an oldie but goodie from last year.

The Skates stencil was paste-embossed in silver on bright blue cardstock. The frosty background was created using the double glitter technique, but with a mixture of Stampendous Ultra Fine Multi Crystal glitter and Stampendous Cotton Ball Fun Flock. Sparkly ribbon, a metal sentiment, and a Dreamweaver Pearl topped pin finishes off this card...simple, but filled with frosty fun!

Be sure to check out the rest of the team posts this week, as well as the Dream It Up! blog. Come follow along with the team and play along with this month's Frosty Fun challenge. Just post a link to your own creation, or email a pic for us to feature on the blog and/or our Facebook page.
