BLOOMIN' with Linnie Blooms Part Two

Welcome to the final hop day of our collaboration with Linnie Blooms! Have you had as much fun as we have? I doubt it...but you could! Here's what I've created for this fun hop:

Remember how on an earlier post of mine this week, I mentioned how many cool uses you can think of with these Linnie Blooms Canvas File Folders? This week I've done a greeting card, a portable doodling journal, and today...a gift card holder. The outside was painted with black acrylic paint, and when dry, was pasted in Dreamweaver Regular Embossing Paste with the little Bird on a Branch, and the Large Scales. When dry, the clean and dry stencils were replaced over the pasted surface, and inked with the Tsukineko® Splendor Circus palette and large and small stencil brushes. For the large scales section, I left the stencil on still, and stamped the Stampendous Cling Seed Background in Onyx VersaFine ink over the top. A die cut frame was cut from canvas, inked in green, and stamped with a sentiment from the Perfectly Clear Royal Heart Quotes. The back was stenciled with the same designs, but kept lighter and brighter.

 The inside was ink-stenciled with the Dreamweaver Zen Butterfly in deep periwinkle with the Bird on a Branch stenciled on one wing in black, and along the border with the Large Scales again. I created a mask for the butterfly with a sticky note in order to stamp the Seeds Background over the canvas, and the Cling Cosmos image. the petals were colored a bit, I added some doodling with my .7 Copic Black Multiliner. I cut a slit through the canvas, and adhered strips of May Arts ribbon over the edges to prevent fraying. This became a cute pocket for a giftcard. As before, I sewed another large heart  button on the tab to act as a closure, and added a couple of buttons inside for fun. I really think that this folder was my favorite for this week, but all were fun to create. What do you think? Dreamweaver Thursday: BLOOMIN' with Linnie Blooms Part One

If you've been following along with the Stampendous team this week, then you know we've been having a great time playing with Linnie Blooms, a new product line introduced at CHA in January. So many fun products to decorate and to decorate with. Mixed with Stampendous and Dreamweaver products, the sky is the limit...or at least the canvas.

Here's what I've created for this fun hop:

This canvas folder from Linnie Blooms was created to be a travel doodling kit. The inside was painted with black acrylic paint, and when dry, was stamped with the Stampendous Cling Seed Background and white ink, and the Dreamnweaver Corner Flowers stencil, also inked in white.
The outside were painted and inked in soft pink. The back was stamped in Onyx Versafine using the Cling Cosmos image. The front was paste-embossed in Matte Black with the Dreamweaver Bird on a Branch. When dry, ink and mica powder was brushed over the surface. The Stampendous Cling Hope Sings sentiment was stamped onyx ink, and all of the edges inside and out were distressed with ink. On the inside, a small slit was cut to insert a small pad of paper. On the outside, ribbon was added along with some little buttons, and a closure was  created by sewing a large heart-shaped button on the tab of the folder, allowing the front cover's edge to tuck underneath.

At Linnie Blooms you’re going to find oodles of fun projects to really take your mixed media in a new direction. Here's what I'm bloomin' with excitement to show you...

Linnie Blooms canvas file folders are so much fun to play with. Just dump a pile of paints, inks, embossing pastes, stamps, stencils, and embellies on your work space and leave the world behind! These are a fun size, and as you'll see in my posts this week, there are so many uses besides just cute!

For this one, I painted the front with black acrylic paint. When dry, I paste-embossed in Dreamweaver Matte Black the Corner Flower stencil, set this aside to dry, and cleaned my stencil immediately. Once dry, I replaced the stencil over the design, and using Tsukineko Radiant Neon inks and small stencil brushes, I added color to the design. I poured clear embossing powder over the surface and heated it for a nice shine. On the back side, I used the same stencil and inked directly on the canvas with similar colors, and added a bit of doodling with a black Copic Multi-Liner pen. Both front and back were inked around the edges before moving to the inside.

On the inside, I ink-stenciled the Dreamweaver Zen Butterfly in orange ink. Leaving the stencil in place, I inked the Stampendous Cling Seeds Background in black, and stamped on top (be sure to protect the outside area with tape so that the design is only on the wings). I doodled a bit, added some buttons and twine, and moved onto the right side. I wanted the sentiment to be the focal point, so I brushed a bit of soft orange and green inks in the background, and stamped the Cling Cosmos image in Red Pepper VersaFine ink. Then I was able to stamp the Cling Life is Art in Onyx Versafine over the top. Both sides were inked around the edges, and a heart button was sewed onto the tab, which acts as a closure for the folder (see top pic).
