More Warm Thoughts from Lizzie Anne Designs

As promised, here is another creation from the new release of Lizzie Anne Designs, December Mix "Warmest Thoughts". A really appropriate name for this set when you see the four stamps that I used for this gift card. Don't you just love the marshmallow guy? The sentiment was inspired by a Johnny Mathis Christmas carol. So true as who doesn't love cocoa with marshmallows (or whipped cream...or both!) during the winter? So cozy! For this project, I stamped the cocoa cup with Rich Cocoa (perfect, eh?) Memento ink and colored with my Copics. I added white Liquid Applique to the marshmallows, heat it to puff, flattened them slightly, and added a little toasty color to them. The marshmallow dude was stamped randomly over a DP panel. I had some cute ribbon with the pinks, browns, and mint greens that I had used for coloring. The inside of the card has a little pocket to hold a packet of cocoa mix. (I found these Starbucks ones at Marshall's. They carried a variety of flavors, and I love the simplicity of their packaging.) I added the warm sentiment and another marshmallow dude that I had colored and glittered. This makes a
cute little quickie gift that won't break the bank, but let's the recipient know that you cared enough to create the very best (apologies to Hallmark!). Happy holiday stamping!

Lizzie Anne Designs December Mix Release Day!

Hip hip hooray...it's Lizzie Anne Mix Release Day! I had the hardest time trying to decide which of the wonderful stamps in the December Mix, "Warmest Wishes", that I wanted to feature today. As soon as I received these in the mail (after haunting the post office for three days), I sat down and created three cards and one gift project. I decided to post this one for release day. Having three men in my household (four if you count Smokey the cat), I'm in constant need of stamps for masculine cards. Therefore, I jumped at the opportunity to go with this monochromatic color scheme for this card. I spritzed the beige cardstock with rubbing alcohol and crumpled it before distressing the edges and brushing ink over the wrinkles to highlight them. I stamped the tree and sentiment on the panel before adhering it to my dark chocolate card with the houndstooth print paper, and finished off with the buttons and stitching with twine. I instantly knew who would be receiving this card for the holidays. My hubby and I have a great friend
living in Montana who always loves my handmade Christmas cards, and living where he does, he loves the outdoors as well. I cut and folded a long beige panel to fit inside the card, and stamped the holiday sentiment over a soft-colored stamped tree image. Eric, you're going to love this! To all of you surfing in blogland, be sure to visit the rest of the Lizzie Anne design team as listed at right, as well as the Lizzie Anne blogsite for more inspiration. Then head to the Lizzie Anne site to order this great mix of stamps! Come back to see the rest of the cute stuff I've been creating with this new release, as I will be sprinkling them over the next few weeks.

LAD-Star Sprite Holiday Card

I promised that I would be posting more with this darling just released single, "Sprite", from Lizzie Anne Designs. Isn't she cute? What I really love about her, is that she is versatile. She can be the birthday sprite, the tooth fairy, the get well fairy, or just a have-a-happy-day sprite! In this case, once again she is a holiday sprite. She's been stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copics, had glitter added, and cut out to pop away from the card. To add to the magic, I stamped and embossed the star wreath from the November mix, "The Key to Happiness", on the panel behind her. I didn't have the perfect color of EP for this, so I mixed ultra fine crystal glitter with Jade PEARLustre EP. I love how the circles on the DP mimic this sparkly wreath. I added a rhinestone to her magic wand, and this fun sentiment brad from Queen & Co. that I just bought a couple of weeks ago at the Ontario Scrapbook Expo. One of my best buds, Laura Weed (who also happens to be Graphics Coordinator at Stampendous) and her fun mum, walked the show with me. Had a blast, and spent lots of cash! (Those tend
to go hand in hand, don't they? Don't forget to check out the rest of the Lizzie Anne Design team for their fun takes on the latest two singles, Sprite and Starburst, as well as the LAD blog. Inspiration galore!

LAD-Way Up North Tent

This post is all about one of my absolute fave sets of clings stamps from Lizzie Anne Designs called, "Way Up North". It features the most adorable polar bear and snowman, along with cute little sentiments and other frosty images. My favorite color combo is blue and green...actually more in the realm of turquoise and lime. My "studio" is in these colors. I wear these colors. But most of all, I love to create with these colors. In  this case, I created a tent card that features this fun little igloo image with it's tiny little wreath and holiday lights. I colored this very simply with Copics, added a sprinkling of glitter, used this super cute American Crafts paper for the background, and embellished with bows, brads, and jump-rings. The front panel of the card was machine embossed with the Dreamweaver Snowflakes stencil (hard to see in the photo). For a tutorial on creating a tent card, go to Split Coast Stampers. Check back this week as I intend to post another cute holiday card using this great set.
