Have You Played with the New Dreamweaver Christmas Toys Yet?

Did you have fun with the Dreamweaver/Woodware UK hop last week? We sure did! Those WW girls are amazingly talented! Are you wondering if you won any of the great prize packages? Check this past Sunday's post on the Dream It Up! blog. This week we are finishing off our Christmas in August challenge, which means this will be your final week to send us links (or email pics) for them to be considered for the prize we are offering this month, the brand new Heart Ornaments stencil. More info on the Dream It Up! blog.

For my card today, I'm featuring last year's Ornate Christmas Tree along with this year's Christmas Borders (yes, they match!). I love the border patterns, very Scandinavian-inspired. I used the new Molten Magic technique on this, with one slight change. I did not sprinkle any Metallic F/X over the wet glossy pastes. So, when I went to heat the pastes with my heat tool, it bubbled wonderfully, but it also toned down the shine of the metallic copper on the background, and the glossy shine of the red paste on the front panel, giving it a burnished/aged look. The technique is very simple to do. I've posted previously with it HERE, or you can check out Laura Drahozal's tutorial with this technique on Paper Craft Planet HERE.

Do the run-around and check out what the rest of the team is playing with now:

You know you want that new Heart Ornaments stencil, so hurry and link your Christmas Dreamweaver creations to the mr. linky on the Dream It Up! blog, or email pics to lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com for an opportunity to win!

Summer Hues for Christmas?

Yes, it's Christmas in August with the Dreamweaver Stencils' design team. But, sometimes it's fun to think out of the traditional holiday color box. This was exactly what I was aiming for when I created this card. First, I paste-embossed in Glossy White the new Star Dream Christmas Tree. While the stencil was still in place, and the paste still wet, I sprinkled a selection of Metallic F/X over the surface. Then I removed the stencil to clean it, and set aside the pasted and sprinkled piece to dry. When dry, I used a piece of "Swiffer" sheet to wipe away the excess powder. The panel was layered with a pretty mint green mat atop a machine-embossed panel with the Waves and Dots stencil. A pretty sheer pink bow was the finishing touch.

For some amazing inspiration and opportunities to win some  great prize packages, come back starting next Monday, August 20th, for a week long celebration of the newly released Dreamweaver designs, with a collaboration between the Dream Team and the Woodware UK design team:

Can't wait until next week? Then pull out your Christmas designs and play along with the team. Link your creations on the Dream It Up! blog, or email your designs to lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com for a chance to win one of the new Heart Ornaments stencil shown here:

What's That You SAY?

The Stampendous team is focused on sentiments for the month of August. I may be fudging slightly on this card, as it is probably more focused on text than sentiment, but I think it "says" enough either way. I love this Perfectly Clear Vintage Typewriter set introduced last October...so many fun ways to create with it, and so many sentiments to choose from.

The  background is this fun font and message filled paper from Canvas Corp, that is perfect with the typewriter theme. My love of added dimension meant that I had to pop up the typewriter, roll my paper, and tie a metal letter on with jute twine, not to mention add a "bulletin board" behind the typewriter with fun cork paper (also from Canvas Corp). I stamped with Onyx Versafine and added a fine mist of Amaretto Memories Mists for that coffee-stained look. (Hmmm...now I'm thinking I should have added a "coffee cup ring" as well...oh, well...next time.)

Be sure to play along with the Stampendous team through the month of August and link your SENTIMENT-al creations to the link at the bottom of my post, or on the Stampendous Impressions blog for a chance to win one of these great new sentiment stamps:

Now hop around a bit and get inspired by our Sentiment loving Design Team, then create something of your own! Here's a chance to dig out that sentiment stamp you just had to have but haven't used yet. BONUS if your project uses Stampendous products your entry counts twice!!

Christmas in August? Oh, yeah!

The Dream Team has moved away from "Summer Fun", and gone straight to "Christmas in August"! Wow...what a leap! For my post today, I am featuring the Single Bare Tree stencil, paste-embossed* in Glossy White on a bright blue background cardstock. I pasted in Glossy Red and covered with glitter just one of the birds from the Birds on Branch cut out and foam taped for the pop of color. To emphasize the frosty feeling, I softly stamped the Old World Greetings repeatedly on a square of white, and ink-stenciled one of the snowflakes from the Snowflake Background on the top, with the red rhinestone referring back to that pop again. A softly stamped border of Stampendous Cling Jumbo Merry & Magical adds to the contrast.
