STMC24-Mono Hang Out Halloween Card

Here I go playing "monkey-in-the-middle" again! Keep bouncing back and forth between Christmas and Halloween. Seriously though, for papercrafters THIS is the best time of the year! For this weeks' Stampendous Saturday Sketch Challenge, Jennifer Dove challenged us to create a card in a monochromatic color scheme. You HAVE to go check her card out! It is amazing. Jenn does Copic classes and her technique makes me soooooo envious. Her version has the look of a black and white photo, all shades of gray. I decided to do mine in shades of purple just because I hadn't had the opportunity to play with this great Stampendous Cling set. I stamped the spider image on the print paper, the lighter Coredinations, and also on white cardstock. I used my Copic markers to color in the hat and candy corn, cut them out and popped them up on the image. Of course, I had to highlight with a little of Stampendous' Violet Pearl glitter! I used Dot Sparklers for the eyes which I colored with a purple Sharpie. I used Coredinations cardstock for the majority of this card because it distresses so nicely. I've found it's easier to distress by dampening the paper slightly with some rubbing alcohol before sanding it or using whatever tool you have for the process. I usually use a sanding block and/or pumice stone. I used one of my new Nesties for the sentiment and some cute paper I bought recently that has the sparkle built in already for the strip across the card. Please check out all the design team gals amazing work and come play along with us! For rules, check out the Stampendous Impressions blogsite.
