I found myself with a tiny break in deadlines, so thought I'd play along with the Mojo Monday sketch for the week. Even better, it turns out that this is the week for the contest! In any case, even if I don't win, I've won anyway 'cuz I had so much fun creating this card and have now completed one more card for my stash of holiday cards to mail out! On top of that, most of this card was created from my "Kibbles & Bits" box...you know, the stash you have of parts that didn't work for something else but too cute to throw away? I had previously made a card with the Stampendous "Polar Gifts" stamp and usually if I'm coloring one, I'll at least color one extra just in case. I had created the large flake using Dreamweaver Stencil's "Gothic Snowflake" with a new technique that I was trying. Using ink directly on the stencil, spritz with alcohol, run through the Big Shot with cardstock, and the ink colors the background leaving the stencil popping out. Pretty cool, huh? The panel on the bottom of the card was done in a similar way using the "Snowflakes" background stencil with remaining ink, and cardstock just laid on top. This way creates a more watercolor effect. Also cool. Of course, being the holidays and going frosty, I had to add some bling with the rhinestones, glitter, and a sparkly pompom. (Note: if you trim off the back of the pompom, it lays a little flatter.) I was really happy with the final design, so either way...it's a winner!

Very Cute! Thanks for the common sense tips like the one about cutting the pom pom-something I should be able to come up with on my own but probably wouldn't!

Hey, Pam! I have looked at this guy more than once and am just now realizing that snowflake stencil. Lol! Cute card...and polar bear stamp too.
