Dreamweaver Patina Peacock card

Here's another post using new toys from Dreamweaver Stencils. This great stencil was embossed by running through my Big shot machine. I rubbed and sponged various inks, and sprinkled a bit of white embossing powder which I heat embossed, over the surface to achieve a patina finish like you might see on weathered copper ceiling tiles. The panel was mounted on a peachy/copper cardstock panel and then to a deep teal card.
The sentiment came from the Stampendous "Peacock Beauty" clear set and attached with a swirl clip that mimics the swirls in this beautiful stencil design. What I love about stenciling is all the varieties of techniques and looks that you can achieve with them. Check out the Dreamweaver Stencils website for all the great tips as well as amazing samples. While you are at it, check out the new Dreamweaver blogsite as well, featuring the Dreamweaver Stencils "Dream Team" (which includes me...woo hoo!) led by our fearless leader, Lynell Harlow, the creative force behind these fabulous designs aaaaand all the yummy blogs from our team.Okay, you've been inspired now...so go stencil!

Dreamweaver Bless You Butterfly Card

It's Tuesday, almost Wednesday, which is also known as Hump Day! Are you dreaming of the weekend? You can tell that I am! Perfect time for a Dreamweaver Stencils card! This is one from the new batch sent to Dreamweaver Stencils for them to take to CHA summer in Chicago and maybe for an upcoming catalog? Hmmm....just have to wait and see! I used three great stencils for this card and the Matte Black embossing paste. I brushed three colors of the Metallic F/X over the dried paste, (leaving the stencil in place to mask off the surrounding areas), on the background panel and the butterfly. The butterfly was stenciled on acetate and mounted with bent wings over the top of a cutout of the butterfly to highlight it. I love the metallic copper cardstock with the deep lavender cardstock. It photographs appearing a little orange, but you can catch more of the copper sheen in the close up picture at the bottom. I hope your Wednesday brings you plenty of dreaming and creating!
