<br />
The Woodware team are celebrating summertime birthdays this week. Since my own birthday is the 24th of June, I qualify. I never liked having a summer birthday growing up, as school was over, leaving me with no chance to treat my class to cupcakes, or to feel like a "big deal" to my classmates. On the other hand, our family vacations were usually right after school was out in June, so my birthday was celebrated on one of our holidays. On one of these, we met up with both sets of grandparents in Montana. My grandmother on my father's side somehow had baked me a chocolate cake, but there were no candles for the top. So my Gran (mother's side) used pink nail polish to paint some matches to stick on top of the cake. I had to blow them out really quick! It was one of my best birthday memories!<br />
<br />
Now that I've reminisced, I'll share with you this sweet House Mouse Designs' card that is perfect for a summertime birthday. No chocolate cake here, but there is plenty of icy cold ice cream to be shared! The image is the <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=14714&ProdSKU=HMCR59" target="_blank"><b>House Mouse Ice Cream Kitty</b></a>, and has been colored with <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/products_subcat.php?category=Colouring%20Things&category2=pens%20and%20pencils" target="_blank"><b>markers</b></a> in yummy sherbet colors, that also happen to match some very bright tags and cording.<b> </b><br />

<br />
For the fun of it, I placed the card in a translucent envelope so that the recipient gets a "sneak peek" at their lovely card. I happened to have the envelope on hand, but you can easily create your own with the <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=9559&ProdSKU=VIGR124" target="_blank"><b>Artemio Envelope Template</b></a> and <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=1130&ProdSKU=2316" target="_blank"><b>Vellum Paper</b></a>.<br />

<br />
Yummy! I just had to add a few ice cream drips off the mouse, because...hey! Ice cream can be messy, especially in the summer! I added a very simple sentiment from the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=birthday+assortment&button=Search" target="_blank"><b>Stampendous Birthday Assortment</b></a> clear stamps on a small part of tag for a unique styling to this card.<br />

Graduations aplenty have been swarming this season, and I wish every single one of the graduates, "a little bit of luck", as navigating this world is never easy. It also happens to be the weekly challenge for the Woodware team. Sometimes with luck, the stars need to be aligned just perfectly, for all of that hard work to pay off. And speaking of stars...don't you love the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=11508&ProdSKU=LX7017" target="_blank"><b>Star Swirls</b></a> stencil from Dreamweaver? For this card, I've pasted it in <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=embossing+paste&button=Search" target="_blank"><b>silver</b></a>, and sprinkled it with <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=Aged+Black&button=Search" target="_blank"><b>Stampendous Aged Black Embossing Enamel</b></a>. When heated all of these items melt and bubble for beautiful shine and texture. This panel was popped up above the card base with the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13763&ProdSKU=LX7029" target="_blank"><b>Dreamweaver Dot Spiral</b></a> pasted in <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=embossing+paste&button=Search" target="_blank"><b>Glossy Black</b></a> for a cool black on black effect. A strip of the negative portion of die-cut letters from the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13457&ProdSKU=DD005" target="_blank"><b>Dreamweaver Alphabet set</b></a> was adhered over <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=1136&ProdSKU=2326" target="_blank"><b>mirror cardstock</b></a> to finish the card. If you've missed the rest of the team posts this week, head on over to the <a href="https://woodwarewitterings.wordpress.com/" target="_blank"><b>Woodware Witterings</b></a> blog.<br />

<br /></div>
This week on this side of the "pond", the USA have been celebrating our "Independence" from YOUR side of the "pond". Lol. Good naturedly, of course. Our theme this week on the Woodware blog is "Colorblocking", which is always an effective way to highlight an image in a different way. For my Fourth of July/Independence Day card, I used three colors of <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=1239&ProdSKU=LB0099" target="_blank"><b>core paper</b></a>, designed to be embossed and then sanded to reveal the design. The design that I chose was the <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13538&ProdSKU=FJ886" target="_blank"><b>Dreamweaver Fireworks Embossing Folder</b></a>, but can easily be done with the <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=7738&ProdSKU=LJ886" target="_blank"><b>stencil version</b></a> as well. I had one large panel of each color to run through my embossing machine with the folder. Once embossed, they were sanded lightly to reveal the design, and cut into thirds to be adhered on three cards. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

including the <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=12220&ProdSKU=SSC1168" target="_blank"><b>Vintage Alphabet set</b></a>. This same design would work well
for several occasions, including Christmas, as it's a quick way to
complete three cards at once! For more color-blocking ideas, visit the <a href="https://woodwarewitterings.wordpress.com/" target="_blank"><b>Woodware Witterings blog</b></a>.<br />

The Woodware team are playing along with the challenge at <a href="http://craftycardmakers.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><b>Crafty Cardmakers</b></a> once again. This time the theme is "Shabby Chic". I thought this canvas would be perfect for this.<br />

Shown here, the Vintage Decor stencil is pasted in Glossy White, and when dry, given a wash of light blue thinned paint. The Dreamweaver Faux Cross Stitch screen was used with a dauber and ink to add textural interest over the various sections of the canvas.<br />

Here, the Vintage Decor was stenciled with Frisket, a resist medium, and when a wash of pink went over the top, the frisket could be rubbed off having resisted the paint.<br />

It's Janelle Stollfus' birthday, and we want her to have an extra-special one...filled with lots of friends, family, food and fun as the sentiment on my card suggests. Janelle is the team "wrangler", "cat herder", and uber-patient assistant to Laura Weed (who is our Grand Pooh-bah). She deals with most of the social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest), writes the blog posts for the Stampendous Impressions blog, gathers all of our links for each weekly challenge as well as the plethora of blog hops that we have with our crafting buddies. Oh, and so many little things, that most of us are unaware of, to promote the Stampendous team and products. She is one really busy girl. And all of this while planning fabulous birthday parties for her kids, family fun, and the ho-hum-everyday-household-stuff as well! She's pretty amazing! Please wish her a happy birthday in your comments! Head over to the <a href="http://www.stampendousblog.wordpress.com/" target="_blank"><b>Stampendous blog</b></a> for more birthday links!<br />

Over on the <a href="https://woodwarewitterings.wordpress.com/"><b>Woodware Witterings blog</b></a>, the team has been challenge this week to a "Flower Free-for-all". Can I just say that I have hundreds of stamps, stencils, and paper that qualify? It was really hard to narrow it down to just one card. I love this one. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMjYAvVyK2OGI9eSc75C_QPeLEpV9QnhLomxs1RL9rYZgAuE3nXjoJ3GtB4UVvQqj-7IFyMXq1n4d8vwCXQ_dzBFbygPFJOLPVm4akdghbzefd_4NxjbBH3DDJk4-hZKRkT1crLbJWvxFi/s1600/PH_DWLG710_BeardedIris_cu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="304" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMjYAvVyK2OGI9eSc75C_QPeLEpV9QnhLomxs1RL9rYZgAuE3nXjoJ3GtB4UVvQqj-7IFyMXq1n4d8vwCXQ_dzBFbygPFJOLPVm4akdghbzefd_4NxjbBH3DDJk4-hZKRkT1crLbJWvxFi/s320/PH_DWLG710_BeardedIris_cu.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This card features the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=large+orchids&button=Search"><b>Dreamweaver Large Orchids</b></a> stencil design, pasted first in <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=embossing+paste&button=Search"><b>Matte Black, and then in Crackle Paste</b></a>. The Crackle Paste dries white, so I replaced the cleaned stencil over the design, and proceeded to stencil on pigment ink. With the ink still wet, I sprinkled on <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=3775&ProdSKU=EP050"><b>Stampendous Crystal Embossing Powder</b></a> for added sparkle. I ink-stenciled a soft background on the focal panel and the purple panel using the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=quatrefoil&button=Search"><b>Dreamweaver Quatrefoil</b></a> stencil, and added a sweet sentiment from <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/suppliers_subcat2.php?supplier=Stampendous&sup_sub1=Perfectly%20Clear&sup_sub2=Words%20and%20Wishes"><b>Stampendous</b></a>.</div>

<br />
Today is my birthday, and there is no place I'd rather be for it than the seaside, which I fully plan to be (as I'm writing this post). I love all of the treasures of the sea, so I created this mixed media bottle of shells and sand using oodles of fun products from <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/"><b>Stampendous</b></a> and their crafty partners. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEie-eIMr3gZ3JeUNEDBe5QDs0LK0PtFEWtRyOxrnLzz052irvK0oooJEgLXunUk3bJhgOCLALnkYIQOvALy_xZRFQmgZ3o9e-NqkJfL1ZccKdIIEc-bk-pXMCZFokLu8bhdw1ZhVZXDqOcu/s1600/PH_DW_SeahorseBottle_72.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEie-eIMr3gZ3JeUNEDBe5QDs0LK0PtFEWtRyOxrnLzz052irvK0oooJEgLXunUk3bJhgOCLALnkYIQOvALy_xZRFQmgZ3o9e-NqkJfL1ZccKdIIEc-bk-pXMCZFokLu8bhdw1ZhVZXDqOcu/s400/PH_DW_SeahorseBottle_72.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
First of all, I mixed a bit of <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=embossing+paste"><b>Dreamweaver Pearlescent and Translucent Pastes</b></a> on my craft mat, and brushed the surface of the bottle with this, leaving space for the seahorse to be added. A heavy sprinkling (more like coating) of <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/frantage-micro-glitter/"><b>Teal Micro Glitter</b></a> was added over the wet paste, and the bottle was set aside to dry.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnJqS3FfN92a16ymd2LdRPPLQ9IcWUD_wh5Tw8bnotxTZsMmIqOKEAkllsgV1NN3cJZA_GKplHfKGQRVUe7KZl3QOy24nQ5g2k9Ovydqt9k4DHdkETMTS_NpfADfBeaBTMiijPoRDYMAd2/s1600/PH_DW_SeahorseBottle_bottomcu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnJqS3FfN92a16ymd2LdRPPLQ9IcWUD_wh5Tw8bnotxTZsMmIqOKEAkllsgV1NN3cJZA_GKplHfKGQRVUe7KZl3QOy24nQ5g2k9Ovydqt9k4DHdkETMTS_NpfADfBeaBTMiijPoRDYMAd2/s400/PH_DW_SeahorseBottle_bottomcu.jpg" width="252" /></a></div>
<br />
I taped the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=sea+horse"><b>Seahorse stencil</b></a> to the bottle, and pasted it in <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=embossing+paste"><b>Metallic Gold</b></a>. While wet, the paste was sprinkled with <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=Golden+Sand"><b>Stampendous' Golden Sand Embossing Enamel</b></a>, and heated it until puffy and set. I followed a similar process on the sides of the bottle with the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=waves+and+dots"><b>Waves and Dots stencil</b></a>, and embossed with <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=aged+teal"><b>Aged Teal Embossing Enamel</b></a>. Little bits of sprinkles were added to the warmed bottle and melted to mimic bubbles, etc. A bit of <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=embossing+paste"><b>Regular Embossing Paste</b></a> was added to the bottom edge of the bottle, sprinkled with more Golden Sand, and heated for more dimension.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfmUvv-2ZTSwRbBARWU1UpR60390hzbFuM-mBNSPf8vSz-b_V5YW9dlvnoLoOZsJ5h3EsWVwILr4yIZt6DqmvlCpZXpVqAE3JkeBEeIc-dUWszC83xmn5AaPA2HR0q56VRimZqXgV_eSOn/s1600/PH_DW_SeahorseBottle_top.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfmUvv-2ZTSwRbBARWU1UpR60390hzbFuM-mBNSPf8vSz-b_V5YW9dlvnoLoOZsJ5h3EsWVwILr4yIZt6DqmvlCpZXpVqAE3JkeBEeIc-dUWszC83xmn5AaPA2HR0q56VRimZqXgV_eSOn/s320/PH_DW_SeahorseBottle_top.jpg" width="319" /></a></div>
<br />
Now comes the really fun part! I adhered some <a href="http://www.mayarts.com/"><b>May Arts®</b></a> webby ribbon, an Aged Teal embossed starfish, some gold tinsel, shells which I embossed in gold, around the neck of the bottle with <a href="http://www.beaconadhesives.com/"><b>Beacon Quick Grip </b></a>adhesive.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDPDNpyrsJD9yNuk0RU40hJrbgOxWcKvzwwgFioZ8VfHaQie8nEfuJlPBDcggUYoHT93__v-2d2vYaArd2sm3JjFUY0THRPIFaoCCO0s7yfTQnhDlkEv-vfg_H9rAa4OwupLEq_7ZnfJU3/s1600/PH_DW_SeahorseBottle_topcu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDPDNpyrsJD9yNuk0RU40hJrbgOxWcKvzwwgFioZ8VfHaQie8nEfuJlPBDcggUYoHT93__v-2d2vYaArd2sm3JjFUY0THRPIFaoCCO0s7yfTQnhDlkEv-vfg_H9rAa4OwupLEq_7ZnfJU3/s320/PH_DW_SeahorseBottle_topcu.jpg" width="311" /></a></div>
<br />
I brushed a bit of <a href="http://www.beaconadhesives.com/"><b>Beacon® Fast Finish™</b></a> over the surface, and sprinkled it with <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/frantage-color-fragments/"><b>Teal Color Fragments</b></a>, and adhered a flat glass marble using the Quick Grip again.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidOPkohJk_kAdZdFPH_zFHvUQ1cKWeMT2U9JH8J8t_pbh8S045_QTXQQONn7IuiH0LicLcrhBx80vV48sa5_bD_0awPl1NvFvbZImyxln4AaPmLy782bA9XEHdFTYpMUn0egfEQNl2NRS0/s1600/PH_DW_SeahorseBottle_arrangedII.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidOPkohJk_kAdZdFPH_zFHvUQ1cKWeMT2U9JH8J8t_pbh8S045_QTXQQONn7IuiH0LicLcrhBx80vV48sa5_bD_0awPl1NvFvbZImyxln4AaPmLy782bA9XEHdFTYpMUn0egfEQNl2NRS0/s640/PH_DW_SeahorseBottle_arrangedII.jpg" width="364" /></a></div>
<br />
To "top this off", I used an interesting wine cork which I inked a bit on, and embossed partly in the Aged Teal EE. I had a cool shanked button for the top, so I dug a small indentation in the cork, and Quick Gripped that frosted button onto the top. This was just the kind of project that I loooooove to make! How about some more seaside inspiration? Here you go...<br />

<br />
Yes. I'm a collector. I collect feathers, driftwood, sea glass, rocks ('cuz hey, my dad was a geologist!), and a lot of seashells! Apparently, for just such an occasion as this!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL-9hEtqAz8B0Rsx6fqXyz9q_DKkFhVROM3OIAXjf3ri3eg0yfAy5U5_lfexPX7W1-YtSUt8t9MELy7eQ7S6pmYOLshOrhbb9aJ6MUUcHaynCHj2PG-GRvhyqynu6yuu2VPqhZdfu0AVGY/s1600/PH_CRS5090_DCS5090_SSC1246_SeashellCollectionMM_sideWM.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="299" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL-9hEtqAz8B0Rsx6fqXyz9q_DKkFhVROM3OIAXjf3ri3eg0yfAy5U5_lfexPX7W1-YtSUt8t9MELy7eQ7S6pmYOLshOrhbb9aJ6MUUcHaynCHj2PG-GRvhyqynu6yuu2VPqhZdfu0AVGY/s320/PH_CRS5090_DCS5090_SSC1246_SeashellCollectionMM_sideWM.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I love to add nature to my projects, and this one features it all. However, the basis for all this was the new <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=Cling+Seashells"><b>Cling Rubber Seashells set of stamps from Stampendous, and their matching dies</b></a>. I created this tray/wall hanging using a small painted tray from the Target Dollar section (actually was $3), which I white-washed with some thinned white <a href="http://www.decoart.com/"><b>DecoArt®</b></a> acrylic paint. I added a heavier coat to the slats inside the tray.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRthHBidj-EXJFIvl706B7c7OXJAi65TNI6-5H5rU-Is7Y9WjTc0ZS9WFaidMdMrE1MzgbgcR8R0UiDDqqqtiXUiP6YO2Uto0eaT3YdtjSE_eosztx5qfgxJLrF1GqNzHtWzq_UBpC7F-Q/s1600/PH_CRS5090_DCS5090_SSC1246_SeashellCollectionMM_cornercu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="293" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRthHBidj-EXJFIvl706B7c7OXJAi65TNI6-5H5rU-Is7Y9WjTc0ZS9WFaidMdMrE1MzgbgcR8R0UiDDqqqtiXUiP6YO2Uto0eaT3YdtjSE_eosztx5qfgxJLrF1GqNzHtWzq_UBpC7F-Q/s320/PH_CRS5090_DCS5090_SSC1246_SeashellCollectionMM_cornercu.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I stamped several of the shells on tissue paper with <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=memento"><b>Tuxedo Black Memento ink</b></a>, and colored them with <a href="http://www.imaginationinternational.com/"><b>Copic Sketch Markers</b></a>. The shells were then die cut, and decoupaged onto the slats with <a href="http://www.beaconadhesives.com/all/paper-mixed-media/fast-finish-decoupage/"><b>Beacon® Fast Finish™</b></a>...my favorite "go to" for decoupage. I white-washed a bit over the shells, brushed more Fast Finish on, and sprinkled<a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=color+fragments"><b> Stampendous Color Fragments</b></a> over the wet surface.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwu8ha1B_2SHPRRyc7nFQ9ZzHGZrsnZuue_nPBjodtLLNqIy9h8gep0pAE0c_ibUZX-bb-DR0mtijItX0pif65owL6wgzD4ljL13TDLv5vSE_zVltzeO3lxB1JLue8ua2eM3oedQmkXY2D/s1600/PH_CRS5090_DCS5090_SSC1246_SeashellCollectionMM_leftcorner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwu8ha1B_2SHPRRyc7nFQ9ZzHGZrsnZuue_nPBjodtLLNqIy9h8gep0pAE0c_ibUZX-bb-DR0mtijItX0pif65owL6wgzD4ljL13TDLv5vSE_zVltzeO3lxB1JLue8ua2eM3oedQmkXY2D/s320/PH_CRS5090_DCS5090_SSC1246_SeashellCollectionMM_leftcorner.jpg" width="295" /></a></div>
<br />
Now I pulled out my nature collection, and began to adhere rocks, shells, sticks, feathers, and Color Fragments, to the inside, along with my favorite <a href="http://www.mayarts.com/"><b>May Arts® web ribbon </b></a>in teal, using <a href="http://www.beaconadhesives.com/all/metal-to-metal/quick-grip/"><b>Beacon® Quick Grip™</b></a>. Using a die cut (<a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=fitted+frames"><b>Fitted Frames</b></a>) piece of teal blue cardstock, I swiped a bit of white paint in the center, and when dry, I stamped one of the great <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/ocean-wisdom-clear-stamps/"><b>Perfectly Clear Ocean Wisdom Sentiments</b></a> on my "sign" before adhering it to a piece of driftwood. I used a couple more pieces of driftwood, wrapped in the rope handles of the tray, and tied with twine to create the handles for the tray/wall hanging.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZ879FeMdF52fHnF-HEsXNdz1BEoD5wvNFXnDAT_j86fMRx3tLJpKPIsIDS3iafonp8OIBvRVLg0-r5L0XW4tRVA-MkdqVD5YFb7KjuBSYsI2ECPEyF206YRW69ixHn9YUYOEnQCOlMXb9/s1600/PH_CRS5090_DCS5090_SSC1246_SeashellCollectionMM_bowcu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="289" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZ879FeMdF52fHnF-HEsXNdz1BEoD5wvNFXnDAT_j86fMRx3tLJpKPIsIDS3iafonp8OIBvRVLg0-r5L0XW4tRVA-MkdqVD5YFb7KjuBSYsI2ECPEyF206YRW69ixHn9YUYOEnQCOlMXb9/s320/PH_CRS5090_DCS5090_SSC1246_SeashellCollectionMM_bowcu.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Finally, for a bit more visual "weight" in the upper left corner, I stamped shells on a piece of <a href="http://www.mayarts.com/"><b>May Arts® Cotton Ribbon</b></a>, tied it in a bow, adding more web, a button, and a tiny twine bow.<br />
<br />

Rebel that I am, when challenged to a theme of <a href="https://woodwarewitterings.wordpress.com/"><b>"Raining Cats and Dogs"</b></a>, I took the raining literally, but skipped the cats and dogs and went with "Hummingbirds and Frogs". Mainly, I just wanted to post this fun card. Using the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13717&ProdSKU=DCP1001"><b>Stampendous Pop Up Die Set</b></a>, I cut the insert from their <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13752&ProdSKU=MPW811"><b>Mixed Media White</b></a> cardstock, and proceeded to Dreamweaver it up! I used the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=9977&ProdSKU=LJ905"><b>"Rain" stencil</b></a> and the scalloped edge of the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=picasso&button=Search"><b>Picasso tool</b></a> to ink-stencil a cloudy and rainy background using a light blue ink. The foreground was inked in lime green before ink-stenciling the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=7750&ProdSKU=LJ899"><b>"Petals" Background</b></a> over it in teal blue. This was folded and adhered inside the card base.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPnzRkxJCvbF4Art0bh4e-kLFnoP2e-WNAbmkHoAKKFJJStzj_yBFa_jJMP3Xbyz8rb5CQpc8uS-Fsh0bCKPDxkZVAfxhoca1ejDxrn9DuyWpBWaSSOTRXJ6pLZXSeBtpXgEBMlojn5ZYo/s1600/PH_Q214_PPFrog_upcu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="289" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPnzRkxJCvbF4Art0bh4e-kLFnoP2e-WNAbmkHoAKKFJJStzj_yBFa_jJMP3Xbyz8rb5CQpc8uS-Fsh0bCKPDxkZVAfxhoca1ejDxrn9DuyWpBWaSSOTRXJ6pLZXSeBtpXgEBMlojn5ZYo/s320/PH_Q214_PPFrog_upcu.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I paper-pieced from turquoise pre-embossed paper the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=10325&ProdSKU=LG737"><b>Umbrella stencil</b></a> onto a cutout of the umbrella in black. Bright pink pompoms were added along the edge and top before curving it, and adhering it to an inked bamboo "skewer", which was inserted into the center pop-up slit. I stamped, colored, and cut out the <b><a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13928&ProdSKU=CRQ214">Stampendous "Pen Pattern Frog"</a> and <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13162&ProdSKU=CRQ199">"Pen Pattern Hummingbird"</a></b>. These were adhered to the base bump-out and one of the upper die cut flaps. To complete the card, I die cut blue and white <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=12890&ProdSKU=DD001"><b>"Nested Frames"</b></a> (also ink-stenciled with the Petals background), stamped a sentiment from the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13585&ProdSKU=SSC1213"><b>Stampendous Perfectly Clear "Life Words" set</b></a> (and its tiny border additions), and adhered this to the bottom of the card. A strip of web ribbon from <a href="http://www.mayarts.com/"><b>May Arts</b></a> with some sprinkles of <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/suppliers_subcat2.php?supplier=Stampendous&sup_sub1=Glitter,%20Flock%20etc&sup_sub2=Color%20Fragments"><b>Stampendous Color Fragments</b></a>, was adhered for more textural interest.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOqB8eMHzs8Ev1AKe2rxak52kOWFMXGanwhMX99C_CL_pqsN8wimh0YahibobXU8qI0b6z3mowcsxrT7pifCQaiGIXl-sA4GZp8HErEvDXMvhlt8bz6VnPKqp229jnP2wfDnL8wfsepsly/s1600/PH_Q214_PPFrog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOqB8eMHzs8Ev1AKe2rxak52kOWFMXGanwhMX99C_CL_pqsN8wimh0YahibobXU8qI0b6z3mowcsxrT7pifCQaiGIXl-sA4GZp8HErEvDXMvhlt8bz6VnPKqp229jnP2wfDnL8wfsepsly/s400/PH_Q214_PPFrog.jpg" width="303" /></a></div>
<br />
If you'd rather go back to "Raining Cats and Dogs" now, I totally understand. I love cats and dogs. We have two floofy freeloaders, and a new puppy ( 5 months) that has stolen our hearts! <br />

The <a href="https://woodwarewitterings.wordpress.com/"><b>Woodware team</b></a> are celebrating "happy days" this week. There are so many to choose from! Birthdays, weddings, baby showers, anniversaries, etc. My card celebrates the happy times of summer...especially picnics! I have great memories of picnics with family and friends. <br />

This card features the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=Life+Picnic&button=Search"><b>Stampendous Cling "Life Picnic" </b></a>sentiment, the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=lunch+Line&button=Search"><b>Cling "Lunch Line"</b></a> (yum), and the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13944&ProdSKU=CRY031"><b>Cling "Picnic Ants".</b></a> This last was stamped as a border along the bottom of the white card.<b> </b>The food bandits were stamped on <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=mpw811&button=Search"><b>white cardstock</b></a> and colored with markers, edged with red ink, and adhered to a <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/suppliers_subcat.php?supplier=CLEAR%20SCRAPS&sup_sub1=Miscellaneous"><b>ClearScraps® acrylic</b></a> banner. <br />
Over the years I've done a few "shaker cards", all with the element of FUN. Birthday fun. Kid fun. Goofy and silly fun. This time I went for PRETTY. Using the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=Time+Flies&button=Search"><b>"Time Flies" paper pad</b></a>, I started with a panel adhered to the front of my purple card. I carefully selected a panel from another paper with a purple and blue butterfly that would show through the opening on top. I matted this panel with lavender cardstock, and set it aside.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjunvtLauNN10bPGkVG0YoIzR30uXlepMgMQYWM7djN7fp_w3FsFDnm4lhqOP0tvpmprS8n8-R7Qhv4ZZpqWGW7aANsoY0tykHPcnMhSfx0wFKLvk4kryVYF_5-qKi3UPDhlVFnggE764jb/s1600/6%253A16_ShakerCard_cuII.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="278" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjunvtLauNN10bPGkVG0YoIzR30uXlepMgMQYWM7djN7fp_w3FsFDnm4lhqOP0tvpmprS8n8-R7Qhv4ZZpqWGW7aANsoY0tykHPcnMhSfx0wFKLvk4kryVYF_5-qKi3UPDhlVFnggE764jb/s320/6%253A16_ShakerCard_cuII.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I die cut a lavender frame using the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=Fitted+Frames&button=Search"><b>Stampendous Fitted Frames die set</b></a>, and stamped a sentiment from the <b>Clear Magic "Tiny Phrases"</b> set from Woodware. I had the negative portion of a piece of <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=1130&ProdSKU=2316"><b>vellum</b></a> which I had die cut one of the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13520&ProdSKU=DCS5071"><b>Stampendous Butterflies</b></a>. I sprayed the back with spray adhesive and adhered it to a panel of <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=1137&ProdSKU=2327"><b>clear acetate</b></a>. Now I adhered the lavender frame over the front.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggpAS5xHYhL6tcEwAsoA5Ywp0aJkZ3oV-DAiZFfXq714rGhnNunYxBnh1dosZTuNXTrdeyjss_S3SRm5mFpEjVRjtmJnKZtyDsaJ48AWJsNMGwPaHPPNrMRBPqxeAHucStlLiowR0ypZX5/s1600/6%253A16_ShakerCard_cuI.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="269" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggpAS5xHYhL6tcEwAsoA5Ywp0aJkZ3oV-DAiZFfXq714rGhnNunYxBnh1dosZTuNXTrdeyjss_S3SRm5mFpEjVRjtmJnKZtyDsaJ48AWJsNMGwPaHPPNrMRBPqxeAHucStlLiowR0ypZX5/s320/6%253A16_ShakerCard_cuI.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
All the way around the back of this panel I adhered <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=Mounting+Foam+Tape&button=Search"><b>foam tape</b></a> with no gaps. (Mind the gap!) Using some <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=Color+Fragments&button=Search"><b>Stampendous Color Fragments</b></a>, I added sprinkles to the inside of the taped panel. I removed the carrier from the tape and adhered the matted panel from earlier, sealing in the "pretty" sprinkles. The entire shaker panel was then adhered to the card. The result? A very PRETTY shaker card!<br />
<br />

When you are fortunate enough to "work" with your hobby as I do, then it's a tough decision. I have other "hobbies", certainly. I love to bake. I love to birdwatch. I love to walk and hike with our 4 1/2 month-old puppy. I like to shop (a lot). But really, to be perfectly honest, if I'm not working/crafting or being the amazing domestic engineer that I am (cough cough), I love a good catnap. Usually with one of my cats.<br />
<b> </b><br />
Hence my choice of stamp image for this post...Francoise Read's design for Woodware, "<a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=12705&ProdSKU=FRS150"><b>Your New Home</b></a>". Yes, this image is great for a house-warming card, but I just love the coziness of this room. Especially once I paper-pieced all of the elements using the <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13597&ProdSKU=MSP228-04"><b>Forever In Time "Elderberry Perfect Prints Stack Pad"</b></a>. So much fun to decorate this room with these yummy papers! Some parts have been popped up with double-sided mounting squares. I've added a bit of shading with <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/suppliers_subcat.php?supplier=Tombow&sup_sub1=Sets%20Dual%20Brush%20Pens"><b>Tombow Dual Brush pens</b></a>, and the cardstock for the focal image was die cut using the new <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=Fitted+Frames&button=Search"><b>Stampendous Fitted Frames.</b></a><br />

<br />
If you weren't sentimental before, you have to be now! The <a href="http://www.stampendousblog.wordpress.com/"><b>Stampendous</b></a> team have provided oodles of ideas using the new Sentimental all-in-one images. My post today features the new <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/create-sunshine-rubber-stamp/"><b>Cling "Create Sunshine" image</b></a>. The perfect combo of a floral and sentiment that works for so many occasions, or none at all! I used an inexpensive bare wood frame from the big box craft store near me, and gave it a wash of pale yellow paint. I wiped a bit of distress stain over the surface, removing the excess for an antiqued look.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLhpNqrpPCPzTrLXI6IavG-_qU90-WDHlmjl9O0JE6hmS6tqGMONjAl77TEQI7h85UykFGzPpprEPhmgfNFN6SNBdDifUIag_9rL7FRhB_D5lyHGgX1U9Ik45KgthA7dqFu15zlsL4F7Io/s1600/PH_CRP286_CreateSunshineFrame_cornercu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLhpNqrpPCPzTrLXI6IavG-_qU90-WDHlmjl9O0JE6hmS6tqGMONjAl77TEQI7h85UykFGzPpprEPhmgfNFN6SNBdDifUIag_9rL7FRhB_D5lyHGgX1U9Ik45KgthA7dqFu15zlsL4F7Io/s320/PH_CRP286_CreateSunshineFrame_cornercu.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Using the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/dwlj902-black-eyed-susan-stencil/"><b>Dreamweaver Black Eyed Susans</b></a> stencil, I used a sponge dauber to ink the design with <a href="http://www.rangerink.com/"><b>Walnut Distress ink</b></a>. I used the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/diamond-grid-stencil/"><b>Diagonal Panes stencil</b></a> and a second dauber to ink with <a href="http://www.rangerink.com/"><b>Vintage Photo </b></a>in a few areas. When dry once again, I lightly sanded over the surface around the edges to distress it further.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHiqzjuELrueWTr97wYDIZNqW_Ud5mGTfzBtpD9bz6SA7EWJW2ShTvFeb9i0MHcequN90DkElzq0TlOvWnHmA-zM4LR_AhPFfRYHH18drp43SOQzFzhNV41h8RXV9h5iSXUZNsXn9ocK6F/s1600/PH_CRP286_CreateSunshineFrame_sidecu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHiqzjuELrueWTr97wYDIZNqW_Ud5mGTfzBtpD9bz6SA7EWJW2ShTvFeb9i0MHcequN90DkElzq0TlOvWnHmA-zM4LR_AhPFfRYHH18drp43SOQzFzhNV41h8RXV9h5iSXUZNsXn9ocK6F/s320/PH_CRP286_CreateSunshineFrame_sidecu.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
The focal point on the inside was a rounded corner panel of kraft cardstock. The image was stamped in the <a href="http://www.rangerink.com/"><b>Walnut Distress ink</b></a>, and the design was painted with <a href="http://www.decoart.com/"><b>DecoArt Media Fluid</b></a> paints. After I'd painted the "banner" portion of the design with white paint, I'd lost the stamped image of the sentiment. So, I re-inked the image and carefully stamped over the first image. The image was sprinkled with <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=chunky+white"><b>Chunky White Embossing Enamel</b></a> and heated from underneath for little speckles of white texture. The panel was inked around the edges and adhered over a yellow cardstock mat, and adhered to the front of the glass panel of the frame. The back of the glass was adhered over a piece of designer paper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I know that the last time the <a href="https://woodwarewitterings.wordpress.com/"><b>Woodware team</b></a> had a challenge regarding boys/men, I posted the <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=12216&ProdSKU=CRW097"><b>Stampendous "Motorcycle Elements"</b></a> card that I'd made for my younger son's 25th birthday...because he loves track-racing on his motorcycles. (I know you mums are cringing at the thought, but let's face it, we can't make every decision for them. We can just hope they'll be safe while doing it. At least on a track he's wearing really heavy duty safety gear...leather suit, racing helmet, etc. Much better than the idiots who zip through cars on the freeways here in California, wearing nothing more than a t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops!)<br />
<br />
Getting back on <i>track</i> now (haha...I made a punny!). My post for today features a card that I created for my son, Bryan, who actually helped me to make it, though he didn't know it at the time. I had this <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13709&ProdSKU=CRR224"><b>Stampendous "Acoustic Sounds"</b></a> image stamped and ready to color with <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/suppliers_subcat.php?supplier=Tombow&sup_sub1=Sets%20Dual%20Brush%20Pens"><b>markers</b></a>. He was bored (no...he's not eight. At the time he was twenty-eight!) so I handed it to him and told him to color it for me. This young man is very creative and artistic (wonder who he gets THAT from?), so this was no punishment for him. He worked hard trying to color the guitar PERFECTLY to match a guitar of his. (Did I mention that he's just a bit of a perfectionist? So much that if he can't do something perfectly, he won't do it at all...which is a huge list all on it's own.) It took him quite a long time to finish it, before I was able to use it to complete my <strike>catalog sample</strike> (sssshhh) birthday card for him.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb7Ys642XKeGyj1teYEebRhs7NXklbsWYk7austpIXm0YHddYvwAee9LI39RUYUnRWS_YU0tWSnqhL0X0y3Ru6-Rudsr4SmixLMG1aW6qZitwmZ7WJiXxksdAN6hO1JcHFU2Sbb4eCAWoC/s1600/PH_CRR224_SSC1214_EJS05_Guitar_cu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb7Ys642XKeGyj1teYEebRhs7NXklbsWYk7austpIXm0YHddYvwAee9LI39RUYUnRWS_YU0tWSnqhL0X0y3Ru6-Rudsr4SmixLMG1aW6qZitwmZ7WJiXxksdAN6hO1JcHFU2Sbb4eCAWoC/s320/PH_CRR224_SSC1214_EJS05_Guitar_cu.jpg" width="282" /></a></div>
<br />
The background of the card was ChalkCore cardstock from Core'dinations, which I machine-embossed with the <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=11029&ProdSKU=LX7012"><b>Dreamweaver Waves and Dots</b></a> stencil, and sanded to reveal the pattern. I added a scrap of guitar music which I'd stamped one of the <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13586&ProdSKU=SSC1214"><b>Perfectly Clear "Happy Greetings"</b></a>. The focal panel was also sprinkled with <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13719&ProdSKU=EJS05"><b>Stampendous' Fran•tagé "Spoonful of Rust"</b></a> and heated. All parts of the card were distressed with ink. I had an old guitar string of his which I wrapped around the card, and added a "guitar pick" stamped with "#1" from the <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13586&ProdSKU=SSC1214"><b>same sentiment</b></a> set. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGJYr5ULuhbkVXBJh1KaLmAw6EJTftwwkGPd_oT64DBz2_hvi3Lr4i789_iR_iULtR0D7yI77VlFndAHwWpFCSxvZIuYUe3flM6e4oZlDp-MrMGS1ZLO5eiBRSy93u40veL91Cuu0p18xH/s1600/PH_CRR224_SSC1214_EJS05_guitar.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGJYr5ULuhbkVXBJh1KaLmAw6EJTftwwkGPd_oT64DBz2_hvi3Lr4i789_iR_iULtR0D7yI77VlFndAHwWpFCSxvZIuYUe3flM6e4oZlDp-MrMGS1ZLO5eiBRSy93u40veL91Cuu0p18xH/s400/PH_CRR224_SSC1214_EJS05_guitar.jpg" width="398" /></a></div>
<br />
So you see that this card was a work of love and inspiration from my gifted son, of whom I'm very proud of...most of the time!</div>

Has the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/"><b>Stampendous</b></a> team got you feeling sentimental this week? It's super easy to do with our newly released <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/product-category/stamps/sentiments/"><b>all-in-one image-and-sentiment designs</b></a>. Just stamp color and you're done...or, take it a step further. For this card I just did a colorwash over the balloons in the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/birthday-balloon-rubber-stamp/"><b>Cling Birthday Balloons</b></a> image. When dry, I ran the panel through my Big Shot with the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/dreamweaver-stencil-flourishes/"><b>Dreamweaver Flourishes design</b></a> (also on the card base), and swiped <a href="http://www.tsukineko.com/"><b>Cantaloupe Memento</b></a> ink over the embossed surface to highlight the design.</div>

<br />
To add more dimension, I turned over the colored panel a top a piece of soft suede, and used a couple of my metalworking tools (a paper stump and large ball stylus) to "puff" out the blue balloon a bit. Edges were distressed. The panel was adhered askew, and a strip of rainbow rick rack finishes this birthday celebration!<br />

Today's post is a happy one! Featuring the new <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/thank-you-daisies-rubber-stamp/"><b>Stampendous Cling Thank You Daisies</b></a> image, stamped in<a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=memento"><b> black Memento</b></a> ink, and colored with <a href="http://www.imaginationinternational.com/"><b>Copic® Sketch Markers</b></a>, the panel has been die cut using the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=fitted+frames"><b>Fitted Frames "B" set</b></a>, with a white mat to frame it. A sprinkling of <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/deep-impression-chunky-embossing-enamel/"><b>Chunky White Embossing Enamel</b></a> was heated from underneath for extra texture.<br />

The card base was created from <a href="http://mycolors.myshopify.com/"><b>MyColorsCardstock™</b></a> in Sweet Potato, with an additional panel of grass green cork, making all of the colors pop! I stamped and die cut a few daisies from the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=build+a+bouquet"><b>Stampendous "Build a Bouquet" sets</b></a>, with <a href="http://decoart.com/mixedmedia/liquid-glass"><b>DecoArt® Liquid Glass</b></a> in the centers of the flowers.<br />

<br />
Don't you just love to have a stamp that has it all? That says it all? <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/"><b>Stampendous</b></a> has just released <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/product-category/stamps/sentiments/"><b>several fantastic images</b></a> for several occasions. Each one can be kept clean and simple (CAS) by simply stamping the image on the card front and adding a bit of color, or taking it a bit further with layers and embellishments. Today's post features the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/anniversary-wish-rubber-stamp/"><b>Cling "Anniversary Wish"</b></a>, and became the perfect card to send to my brother and his wife this month.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkua1N6PPpjbaa6TncMBBPaNim3chlRm9dp2DnNlz6Ucer3c3PqYKH7JfrljFu-aQvFdUC8__REDrDIEWq2-2UxFPNR_5aop4fgh_R55k9wqGpjRGcHHRfZxe53RIkoE1Sx_GR15hqVKfB/s1600/AnniversaryFrame_cu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="280" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkua1N6PPpjbaa6TncMBBPaNim3chlRm9dp2DnNlz6Ucer3c3PqYKH7JfrljFu-aQvFdUC8__REDrDIEWq2-2UxFPNR_5aop4fgh_R55k9wqGpjRGcHHRfZxe53RIkoE1Sx_GR15hqVKfB/s320/AnniversaryFrame_cu.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I've stamped the image on <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/mixed-media-white-paper/"><b>Mixed Media White cardstock</b></a>, and colored it with <a href="http://www.imaginationinternational.com/"><b>Copic markers</b></a>, adding tiny dots of white <a href="http://sakuraofamerica.com/gelly-roll-varieties"><b>Sakura® Gelly Roll</b></a> ink. The image and it's matted frame of designer paper, were die cut using the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=fitted+frames"><b>Stampendous Fitted Frames "B" set</b></a>. With a bit of ribbon, the card becomes truly special.<br />

The <a href="https://woodwarewitterings.wordpress.com/"><b>Woodware team</b></a> are taking a look at dies and punches in a different way, you might say as a window to creativity. The team have been sharing projects where the negative space from a die or punch cut is used as a window for something special. In my case, I've used the <b><a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=Bird+Blossom&button=Search">Stampendous Jumbo Bird set of stamps and its matching dies</a>.</b><br />
<br />
I started with a brown base card, which I've ink-stenciled the <a href="http://www.woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=beam&button=Search"><b>Dreamweaver I Beams</b></a> background in black ink with a large sponge dauber. I've stamped and die cut the bird from an old music sheet, aged it with ink, and adhered it to the card base.<br />
<br />
Finally, I've die cut the bird from this light blue panel. I stamped the branch and the wonderful <b>Stampendous sentiment by Emily Dickinson</b>. A stamped and die cut leaf was added for more dimension. This panel was popped up off of the card over the stamped bird for more depth using foam tape.<br />
<br />

In preparation for the Stampendous April 2016 catalog, Whisker Graphics was kind enough to send each of our team members a wonderful package of product to stamp and/or stencil on, to package things in, and to tie it all up with yummy baker's twine. With all the fabulous inspiration that we will be sharing from both
design teams we thought some of you would like to play along with these
great products too, so there are PRIZES! Just comment along the hops
each day and leave a thoughtful comment for the designers. Winners will
be announced Monday, May 9th.<br />

<br />
For my project today, I've used several of their <a href="http://www.whiskergraphics.com/shop-by-product/tags"><b>yummy, sherbet-colored tags</b></a>, and made sure to incorporate them in my Copic-coloring of the
<a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/ice-cream-kitty-rubber-stamp/"><b>House Mouse Designs® "Ice Cream Kitty"</b></a> image. <br />

<br />
The image was cut into three
sections, each being adhered onto a colorful tag before being adhered to
my card <a href="http://mycolors.myshopify.com/"><b>(MyColorsCardstock by MME)</b></a>. <br />

<br />
One more tag was cut to fit, and
stamped with a <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=ssc1115"><b>sentiment</b></a> to rock this ice cream party theme. All of the
holes on the tags were decorated with the solid and striped bright green
twine that <a href="http://www.whiskergraphics.com/"><b>Whisker Graphics</b></a> is known for.<br />

I added some shading with markers, and filled in the "bubbles" with four shades of <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/search01.php?search=Stickles&button=Search"><b>Stickles (Mystic Green, Firefly, Lagoon, and Midnight Blue)</b></a>. When dry, the panel was layered over a light green machine-embossed panel using <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=13763&ProdSKU=LX7029"><b>Dreamweaver Spiral Dots</b></a> stencil, onto a blue card base, and a <a href="http://woodware.co.uk/detail_display01.php?ProdID=58&ProdSKU=RIB027"><b>bright sheer green dotty ribbon</b></a>. <br />
We are having a busy week on the Stampendous team! In addition to our hop with Nathalie Kalbach's new designs for Stampendous, we are sharing some of our favorite colored <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/product-category/stamps/house-mouse-designs/"><b>House Mouse Designs®</b></a> critters as well. If you've never checked out the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/PassionatePaperCreationsandFriends/"><b>Passionate Paper Creations and Friends page</b></a> on Facebook, I highly recommend that you do so immediately! So much inspiration for coloring your favorite images with your favorite mediums. Here's one of my favorites...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYYEH_THRjvirvTZqa0lQAgn83xlHe-ztvCOZ_AbZwkz1aigsj7Qt4q1FmMdYivdtTF_D42cr2jxAMkUz_ioJlIjoieRFAIsNyz0LeMtvm1r7yblZdOtMXyAX_1DNXUOAwfQgeRa7T6mVz/s1600/PH_HHCR02_CRD187_BouncingBunnies_flatHR.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYYEH_THRjvirvTZqa0lQAgn83xlHe-ztvCOZ_AbZwkz1aigsj7Qt4q1FmMdYivdtTF_D42cr2jxAMkUz_ioJlIjoieRFAIsNyz0LeMtvm1r7yblZdOtMXyAX_1DNXUOAwfQgeRa7T6mVz/s1600/PH_HHCR02_CRD187_BouncingBunnies_flatHR.jpg" /></a></div>
This image called <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=bouncing"><b>"Bouncing Bunnies"</b></a> always reminds me of the children's song about monkeys jumping on the bed. They look like they are having a wonderful time, and you know that MOM will not be happy when she catches them in the act, but meanwhile...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZD0LH42ewDvUn0JdLhgxK6JA-z3yLvZVsKYnsMF2CZU1rhaw6GV5bmVNw5__ky601mJxJrODy_7IBJO1UeYIsBmy0bgP3f7OGNBjUZlZNqgMe6aVQGgkERUkhof0vIdeibD44jVupqtsk/s1600/PH_HHCR02_CRD187_BouncingBunnies_cuI.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="293" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZD0LH42ewDvUn0JdLhgxK6JA-z3yLvZVsKYnsMF2CZU1rhaw6GV5bmVNw5__ky601mJxJrODy_7IBJO1UeYIsBmy0bgP3f7OGNBjUZlZNqgMe6aVQGgkERUkhof0vIdeibD44jVupqtsk/s320/PH_HHCR02_CRD187_BouncingBunnies_cuI.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I've colored this image with <a href="http://www.imaginationinternational.com/"><b>Copic Sketch Markers</b></a>, and I'd love to share the colors that I've used, but that would require more organization than I seem to handle lately.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgziO7s9cEH4niq0RDhddg6AB78-CbuABpvkbsT-0nSvNPEf8w99xALPMOPn4AVLZoxFUqhmpXF8u6aeoUQXgELmQr06mR0zg2Mnl52JJAiF0j3LxJ9zaDCacff0v-7t8T-HmCz63uj4jrD/s1600/PH_HHCR02_CRD187_BouncingBunnies_cuII.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgziO7s9cEH4niq0RDhddg6AB78-CbuABpvkbsT-0nSvNPEf8w99xALPMOPn4AVLZoxFUqhmpXF8u6aeoUQXgELmQr06mR0zg2Mnl52JJAiF0j3LxJ9zaDCacff0v-7t8T-HmCz63uj4jrD/s320/PH_HHCR02_CRD187_BouncingBunnies_cuII.jpg" width="291" /></a></div>
For the background of this card, I've used the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=I+Beam"><b>Dreamweaver I Beam</b></a> stencil from <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/"><b>Stampendous</b></a> to machine emboss a deep mint cardstock panel. The card itself was created with pre-embossed patterned cardstock from <a href="http://www.bazzillbasics.com/"><b>Bazzill</b></a> which I've sanded to reveal the pattern. I love the sentiment that I added, 'cuz you know these bunnies will remember this day forever!<br />

How much fun have you had this week following the <a href="http://www.stampendousblog.wordpress.com/"><b>Stampendous</b></a> team with this awesome hop featuring images designed by <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=nathalie+kalbach"><b>Nathalie Kalbach for Stampendous</b></a>? If you've missed any of the days (how could you?), you can go back to <a href="https://stampendousblog.wordpress.com/2016/04/25/fun-in-foam-with-nathalie-kalbach-stamps/"><b>day one on the Stampendous blog</b></a>. In case you're not sure what you're seeing, this is another one of my t-shirts that I've done, and I'm thinking this one is my favorite. <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=nathalie+kalbach"><b>Nathalie's new foam stamps</b></a> are perfect for using fabric, and the possibilities are endless! I started with a plain black t-shirt, which I washed and dried first to remove any sizing in the fabric. Now the paint will adhere to the fabric much better. The paint that I used is a set of fabric paints in fluorescent colors by Tulip® called "Soft Fabric Paint" in the matte finish. Now this is a bit of a misnomer as there is extremely fine sparkle in this paint...not gaudy, just a hint of shimmer which works well with my use of overlapping colors. I simply used a round sponge cut into wedges. I squirted a "palette" of the paints onto a piece of foil. The t-shirt was pulled over a piece of cardboard to stretch the fabric a bit. Each section of the border hem was done sponging off until there was just a bit of paint in the sponge to prevent seepage under the wonderful stencil pattern that comes in <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=nathalie+kalbach"><b>Nathalie's set</b></a>.</div>

The stencil is easy to line up for repeat patterns as shown above, and when a portion of the stencil is masked off with packing tape, a smaller border is easily achieved around the sleeve hem as seen below.<br />

On the back of the shirt, I sponged the blue paint onto the flat surface of the back of the foam elephant. We're not talking "squishy" foam either. This is nice firm foam for nice crisp images. I stamped the blue solid elephant, and set it aside to dry briefly. (This paint is fast drying! No worry about smearing.) I inked the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=nathalie+kalbach"><b>Cling Rubber Elephant</b></a> with its wonderful patterning with Black <a href="http://www.tsukineko.com/"><b>VersaCraft ink by Tsukineko®</b></a>, and stamped it directly over the top of the blue elephant. The result is shown above. And how did I create my elephants on parade on the front?<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjh70OGHHTp1lCsjdUqWDtDtgU-i8k_OsgzRgmhhwhjjzZEeyJOLONUKfm4jb95gjKnO-75wKMobhPt0dgJsesC3wlTRWeXDkfo7lG734AwcJC48LyYdK2i-EdTWnDUMDssJdlxK5uBvu8l/s1600/IMG_4182.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjh70OGHHTp1lCsjdUqWDtDtgU-i8k_OsgzRgmhhwhjjzZEeyJOLONUKfm4jb95gjKnO-75wKMobhPt0dgJsesC3wlTRWeXDkfo7lG734AwcJC48LyYdK2i-EdTWnDUMDssJdlxK5uBvu8l/s400/IMG_4182.JPG" width="400" /></a> </div>
<br />
Using the raised pattern side of the foam elephant, I sponged the paint across as I had done with the borders, gave it a light mist of water, and stamped each one (sponging paint again for each new impression. If I'd really wanted to go all out, I could have added some Hot Fix crystals here and there, and I still might If I feel the need for some bling. Oh, I almost forgot. That little band with the border across the neckline? I had cut the sleeves for a more cap sleeve look, and the pieces that I'd removed I just stenciled and sewed a strip for a bit of added interest. Once finished and dry, I turned it inside-out and ironed it to set the ink and paint. When I wash it, it will be in a cold cycle and hung dry. I think it would be fine in the dryer, but I always hang my shirts to dry. They fade and shrink less.<br />

<br />
Featuring the new <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=nathalie+kalbach"><b>Bird Foam Stamp, Cling Rubber, and Stencil set</b></a>, I broke out a long canvas to work on (7 X 14 inch), and covered it in a mix of<a href="http://decoart.com/mixedmedia/"><b> DecoArt Fluid</b></a> Payne's Gray and Titanium White. And let it dry. Remember the lime green paint leftover from yesterday's project? Obviously it saw some use here with the leaf background stencil that comes in the set.<br />

I used both the foam bird and the cling rubber bird, and stamped them
using the Payne's Gray paint, which I'd applied to the stamps with a
section of round sponge. The rubber image was a two layer
process...stamping the back side of the foam stamp (which is totally
smooth for a background shape) in white paint, letting it dry, and
stamping in the gray paint over the top with the rubber stamp. <br />

Portions of the foam stamp bird were highlighted with a bit of white paint, along with white dots on the bright green leaves.<br />

I was happy with the contrast and pop of color on my canvas, but wanted a bit more texture. So, I mixed a bit of the gray paint in with a large dab of <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=paste"><b>Dreamweaver Glossy White Embossing Paste</b></a>. I spread this through portions of the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/products-page/dreamweaver-stencil-graduated-dot/"><b>Dreamweaver Graduated Dot stencil</b></a> randomly over sections of the canvas. I love the look of the tone on tone texture that only adds to the design and detracts from nothing. To finish off this piece, I adhered twigs as if the birds were perched on branches, using <a href="http://www.beaconadhesives.com/"><b>Quick Grip from Beacon Adhesives</b></a> in small dots under the portions of the twigs that touch the canvas. It works perfectly!<br />

This project was simple and so much fun, that I know I'll be doing more like this, and some with the other sets designed by Nathalie. Like how about a long frame going horizontal with the <a href="http://www.stampendous.com/?s=nathalie+kalbach"><b>Cityscape</b></a> set? Hmmm. Check out who else is posting today if you haven't already!<br />
