Stampendous Saturday and Challenge Reminder!

Isn't it amazing how busy the month of September can be? I don't even have kids in school anymore, and yet I seem to be swamped with time-consuming projects! So, today being Saturday, and Stampendous Saturday at that, I decided to take a break, sit down, and just relax. This is the perfect card to demonstrate this! Using some of the latest Stampendous Fran-tage images, I went with a monochromatic theme. The Perfectly Clear "Chandelier" was stamped tone-on-tone in the background, along with subtly stamped swirls from the Perfectly Clear "Damask Chair" set. A band of the border image from the same set was placed across the bottom of the card with ruffled lace on top and a simple sentiment. The true focal point of this card, is the gorgeous "Damask Chair", which I popped up for extra emphasis. Though we didn't have a "challenge" this week, we are still reminding you that the September challenge is still open for you to play along until September 29th. Here is the sketch for this month. If you would like to see more inspiration with this sketch, visit the Stampendous Impressions blog for today's post HERE, last week's post HERE, and my post HERE (which will also connect you to the rest of the team's sketch versions as well.) Those of the team that are posting creations today are:

We'd love for you to play along with us on our monthly challenges. Just post a link to your own creation (on your blog, or online gallery) in your comment on the Stampendous Impressions blog. You could win some fabulous Stampendous goodies!

A HOLIDAY CARD NO ONE CAN RESIST!

Looking for that simple idea for a holiday card this year? Something suitable for everyone on your list? This is the card. Simple, elegant, colorful, and easy to make in large quantities.  Here are the steps:

1) Cut and fold silver cardstock to create card base.
2) Run panel of white cardstock through embossing machine with Dreamweaver Stencils' Cathedral Window, and adhere to card.
3) Use Jumbo Dauber to apply Versamark ink through the Open Bird stencil on watercolor paper panel.
4) Apply Clear Embossing Powder and heat to emboss.
5) Spritz panel with Blueberry Shake, Turquoise, and Iridescent Memories Mists at an angle, and let run off. Set aside to dry. The embossed area will resist the inks.
6) Mask off extra expressions of Comfort Words stencil, and paste-emboss "peace" in Silver Embossing Paste on panel. Set aside to dry.
7) Adhere panel to card.

HOP ACROSS THE POND AND BACK...WINNERS!!!!

So, if you haven't broken out all your stencils, paints, pastes, inks, sprays, etc., in a frenzy of inspired creativity, I have to assume that you are waiting for purchases of said items from one of your local stores, Woodware UK, or online stores such as Stencil With Style. There is no way that you have hopped back and forth across the pond with us all of last week, and not been inspired! I know that I am. There are a couple new tricks that I learned as well last week, and am anxious to try. Just in case you were waiting to see if by chance YOU were one of the lucky random winners of all of the blogs from last week, here is MY list of winners from my three posts:

Day One
#12-Kim X

Day Two
#1-Daria

Day Three
#7-Sheryl H.

I used random.org to generate the number for each day's winners. In some cases, I had to generate a new number as the winners would have been team members. The winners will also be listed on the Dreamweaver Stencils' blog, "Dream It Up!". Please go there to leave your email for contacting you, or email it to me (phornschu@hotmail.com), and I will pass it on to Lynell. If you are in the UK, your info will be passed to Woodware UK for them to mail your prize.
To everyone, please feel free to email questions regarding product, technique, etc. to any of the team members or to the Dream It Up! blog. We will be happy to help with tips and advice on this fun art form.
Once again, the products that have been featured on our Dreamweaver Stencils/Woodware UK Hop Across the Pond can be purchased HERE or HERE.

GOT CHALLENGES? STAMPENDOUS DOES!

Stampendous is so excited to be bringing something NEW to you! Each month on the first Saturday, we will share a brand new challenge with you - it might be a sketch, or colors, or a fun new technique to try. You'll have an entire month to play along with us! And what would a challenge be without a prize? We'll draw a random winner from all qualifying entries at the end of the month, who will win that month's prize.

We're kicking off the new Stampendous Saturday Challenge with a Sketch for September, drawn by Wendy PriceTo play along with us and be eligible to win the Cling Jumbo Romantic Border we're giving away this month, make a card or project using our sketch, upload it to your blog or other online gallery (keyword: STM01), and add the direct link to the linky tool on the Stampendous blog. You have until Thursday, September 29th at 11:00 PM PST to play! You don't have to use a Stampendous image or products to play along, but we sure love it when you do!
Be sure to head over to the Stampendous blog to check out all the details, see more inspiration from our designers, and to add your link to the linky tool!

Also, stop by these blogs to see what my other Stampendous teammates have created with the sketch:

For my version of Wendy Price's sketch, I thought that I'd have some ghoulish fun with a couple of Stampendous' latest creeps...Mumpkin and Count Jack! They're a bit more cute than creepy, but that's okay with me. The background adds some creepy notes. I used the Crowscape Background stamped in gray ink on the purple card. Since I knew that I wanted to "mummy wrap" some twill around the bottom of the card, I added a striped panel of paper to make room. I punched nine 1 1/4" circles and stamped my guys on them, distressed around the edges on everything, including the twill, and added a pop of color with the glowing green eyes and the bright green circle for the sentiment. Oh, yes, and a tiny violet rhinestone drop of blood on Count Jack's fang!

If you've had a chance to check out all the blogs so far in our September Challenge line-up, then break out your stamps and inks and get crafty! Create your own version of this fun sketch, post it, and link it with the keyword (STM01) on the Stampendous blog for your opportunity to win THIS fabulous image!

For those of you that have been our faithful followers through the July and August Stampendous Saturdays, I hope you will continue to follow along and PLAY along with us. My final winner from the August blog candy give-aways is:

Hop Across the Pond and Back with Dreamweaver Stencils!-Day Five

This week has gone by soooo fast! I can't believe that tomorrow will be the last day of the Dreamweaver Stencils/Woodware UK Hop! So many amazingly talented designers from both teams, with so many amazingly creative ways to use the Dreamweaver Stencils' line of wonderful products. Did you miss any of the last few days posts? You can click HERE to return to the Dream It Up! post with the entire list of bloggers for each day. The girls that are posting today are:

FRIDAY September 2nd.
Pam (me!)
My post for today features the newly released "Gears" stencil. Apparently, turquoise and copper are my latest craze, as I used these same colors for my first post of this hop, which you can see HERE. Lol. This set was actually created for a friend of my hubby for his 50th birthday party. He is an avid bicyclist, with a fancy new Italian bike and all the cycling gear. We picked up a whole bunch of wild cycling socks for him to wear on the road. The goofier the better!  The "gears" theme just seemed to be appropriate for him. For both the gift bag and the card, I ran panels of Core'dinations cardstock through the embossing machine atop the Gears stencil, with the rubber embossing mat on top and two clear plattens on that to protect the stencil. Once the panels were embossed, I sanded over the surface to reveal the aqua "core" within, highlighting the design. I ran panels of the new Dreamweaver Stencils' Mercart Copper through the machine as well and embossed the Gears design on it as well. I wiped some Turquoise Memories Mists over the surface, applied a heat tool slightly to set the color, and then wiped away the excess with a paper towel. These copper panels were wrapped around a chipboard square and adhered to either the bag or the card. For the card, I stenciled the sentiment from the Dreamweaver Stencils' "Birthday Words". I love this stencil and use it frequently as it has a nice variety of expressions to use. A little ink distressing, a little Memories Mists Turquoise brushed here and there, and the gift set is complete. Really simple, very WOW, and great to have on hand for those masculine types!
Remember, in order to have an opportunity to win some Dreamweaver Stencils, you need to comment on the blogs as you go.
