Call Me...Resistable!

Feeling a touch of the "after-Christmas-blues" tonight as I post this blog for Monday. My hubby left this morning to go back to work. My two sons left this evening to go back home. Now it's just me and my kitties. I needed a little cheering up, so I'm posting this bright and sweet card featuring new release stamps from Lizzie Anne Designs. This rose and sentiment are from the Winter 2011 mix release, "Lucky in Love". The rose was done with a resist technique. I stamped and embossed it in white on white cardstock. I used the ColorBox Chalk ink pad in Rouge direct-to-paper over the embossed image. Then I wiped the ink away from the embossed surface to show off this gorgeous rose image. I inked a piece of screening with the rouge ink and carefully placed the rose panel over the surface to achieve the
textured appearance. The Bazzill Bling card has rounded corners, and a panel of this pretty pink and green plaid paper from Paper Adventures at the bottom. The sentiment was stamped in green on a Nestie die cut white panel. The rose was off-stamped before stamping a soft image over the sentiment. This panel was popped up over another Nestie die cut piece, and embellished with pearl stickers. A pretty satin bow completes the card. Would make a sweet card for Valentine's day, anniversary, wedding, or everyday. Hope you had a wonderful holiday with your family, and are looking forward to a very creative new year.

Lizzie Anne Designs Sketch Monday

If you are here looking for the Lizzie Anne new release post, please scroll down...but you can enjoy this one along the way! :)

This is my first time playing along with the Lizzie Anne sketch challenge. Today's sketch was designed by Joslyn, so be sure to hop on over to her blog to check out her amazing version! I went super simple on this one. Those of you who know me, know this was a struggle. I like clean and simple, but I tend to have a compulsion to put on ribbon, and sparkles, and buttons, and stickers, and...you get the point. I liked the simple look of Joslyn's sketch, so I forced myself to keep it CAS. I stamped the three images on three strips of white cardstock using Versamark ink, and brushed chalks over the surface of each. (Tip: I masked off the sentiment portion of the ornaments stamp with a piece of tape before inking, but be sure to remove the tape before stamping!) Then I inked the sentiment portion only on the ornaments stamp for the message at the bottom of the card. The final touch was the buttons and twine. However, I think if I were to do large multitudes of this card, I would leave off tying the twine through each button. Gets a little tedious after a while! Be sure to check out the rest of the team, play along, and post your creation to the Lizzie Anne Designs customer gallery. Happy stamping!

LAD-Sparkle Sprite Holiday Card

Today is a Lizzie Anne Designs new release day, featuring two new singles..."Sprite" and "Starburst". I love both, but my absolute fave is the "Sprite". For this card I stamped her on a Nestie Label die cut panel with Memento ink and a second time on another piece of white cardstock. Both were colored with Copics and glitter was added to highlight because, after all, today she is a Sparkle "Sprite"! I cut out the extra dress and adhered it over the other, cut around the wings so that they could bend upwards for flight (and to highlight the green glittered panel underneath). The turquoise panel was stamped randomly with the "Star Wreath" stamp using Versamark ink. Because I wanted to use the "Holiday Sparkle" sentiment from the "Oh Christmas Tree" set, I needed to add more holiday elements. So, I
punched snowflakes to adhere behind the sparkly flowers and I used the leftover punched square to stamp my sentiment on. To emphasize the sparkle, I added a Diamond Dot Snowflake sticker behind the rhinestone on her wand, and another rhinestone in the center of the snowflake. The ribbon is sparkly with sequins, and the doily border adds the final festive touch. Definitely a girly card! Be sure to check out what the rest of the team has created for this release (list at right), and run back over to the Lizzie Anne Designs site to purchase these two seriously sweet stamps! I plan on posting more with these cuties in the next few days, so come back!
