Welcome to the grand finale of our hop with the May Arts Ribbon Design Team! Today we have several talented members from both teams posting their creations for this fun week. If you've missed any of the days this week, head on back to the Monday post on the Stampendous blog for links to everyone. As per usual, leave comments on every post for the chance to win one of three prize packages shown in the banner below. See Stampendous Official Contest Rules for details.
I created this "key to passion" (whatever that means! Sounds good, though, doesn't it?), using a wood key shape that I picked up in the big box store near me. I painted it with black acrylic paint, and then proceeded to "Fran•tagé" it! I dabbed Dreamweaver Silver Embossing Paste randomly over the surface, sprinkled liberally with both Aged Silver and Aged Black Embossing Enamels, and heated it all to bubble and melt and texturize.
I stamped the Cling Passion Heart image from Stampendous three times on red Mini Dot My Colors Cardstock from MME using Onyx VersaFine by Tsukineko®. I cut one out whole. The second was just the flowers. And the third one was just the center "frills" of the flowers. The edges of the "frills" and the outside edge of the whole heart were dabbed with VersaMark ink by Tsukineko®, and embossed with the Aged Silver EE.
Rhinestones on floral wires were inserted in the centers, and adhered from behind the flowers with foam tape for sparkle and dimension. The completed heart was adhered to the "handle" of the key with large craft glue dots. A sentiment from the "Love Always" Perfectly Clear set was stamped on a tiny "Fitted Frame" die cut, and adhered to the heart.
The finishing touch was a double loopy bow created from May Arts' black silk ribbon and the brown, red, and black Solid/Satin Stitches ribbon, tied in the center with 1/4" sheer red organza, and the addition of an old monogrammed button. A loop of the black silk was inserted at the top of the key for hanging display purposes.
