Copper Foiled for Fall

I was playing around the other day with this great stencil image from Dreamweaver Stencils, and came up with what I think is a kind of cool technique. I ran the purple panel through the Big Shot with the "Branch" stencil twice in different directions (doesn't show terribly well in the photo), and then I realligned the stencil over one section and inked with Versamark and embossed with clear powder leaving a raised shiny image. I spritzed it with some alcohol* thinking of possibly running it through the Big Shot one more time, and noticed that the alcohol on the clear EP left it slightly sticky. Hmmmm...let's go in a different direction, I thought. I broke out my copper foils and crumpled up a piece (breaks up the foil a little so it's more interesting), and placed the foil face down on the bottom platten. I reset the stencil over the embossed image on the purple panel before placing face down on top of the foil. The rubber mat and last platten went down on top and the whole thing was run through the Big Shot. The foil adhered in shiny patches to the slightly tacky leaves, but so did tiny bits of fibers and papers that had been embedded in the bottom platten. At first I was annoyed, but the more I looked at it, the more I kind of liked it! It had a kind of natural texture to it. As a matter of fact, I then went out of my way to rub some more fibers into the surface. I layered the panel on a metallic copper panel with a fun print onto my green card. The sentiment is from pad of vellum quotes from JoAnn's.
Just goes to show, there are no accidents, just opportunities for new creations!

*spritzing the cardstock with alcohol before running through the Big Shot ensures a deep emboss.
