Dreamweaver/Stampendous/Core'dinations: SANDY Claus is Coming to Town - Day One

SANDY Claus is Coming to Town!

Yes...SANDY Claus! All of this week, the Stampendous and Dreamweaver teams are playing with a mix of their products, along with some wonderful, SAND-ABLE papers from Core'dinations. Join us as we sand our way to the "core" of all things Christmas and the Holiday season. Of course, there will be prizes, and we give away the best...this time with a mix of fun Core'dinations products as well. To be one of three prize package winners, follow the posted link lists each day, leave a comment, and winners will be selected from these comments at the beginning of next week. Here is what you might win:

Here's what I'm showing off today:

Monica Mouse just loves writing on the teacher's chalkboard. This time she's left a wonderful Holiday Greeting in the form of the new Dreamweaver Embossing Folder design, embossed and sanded on Core'dinations new Chalk Core cardstock. "Chalk it Up, Monica" is an original House Mouse® Design, available through Stampendous after October 17th. She's been stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, colored with Copic markers and a Pentouch White Marker, cut out and adhered with foam tape. Oh, and of course, she has a ribbon bow!

Leave a comment for me, and head to the next on the list:

Dreamweaver: 31 Days of Halloween with Smeared and Smudged - Day Twelve

The Dream Team are dipping their fingers into all things spooky, creepy, and scary, as we play along with the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. The team will be taking turns to fill the quota of 31 days on the Dream It Up! blog, and posting on their own blogs as well. Be sure to leave them lots of love as this is truly a challenge for many of them! Here is my post:

Going with a steampunk ghost idea here. I used the Dreamweaver Gears machine-embossed into the Core'dinations' Vintage Cardstock, with the embossing sanded lightly to reveal the design. The black panel features the Dreamweaver Damask Background, paste-embossed in Matte Black, sprinkled with Stampendous Aged Black Embossing Enamel, and heated until textured. The edges were torn, and with the help of a glue marker, sprinkles of Color Fragments were added on the edges. The focal piece has a dual frame...one a scalloped oval, and the other one of the Dreamweaver Nested Frames. The ghostly cameo was actually a mistake from a previous project. I had attempted to ink the Cameo stencil itself, and transfer the ink to a piece of acetate. This was sprinkled with black embossing powder and heated. However, the ink was splotchy, and the embossing powder clung in areas that I didn't want due to the fact that I hadn't wiped the surface with my usual anti-static medium...talcum powder. However, when I backed her with a piece of white tissue, the result was...haunting, and therefore fitting for the sentiment used from the Stampendous Tricky Words clear set. The brad fasteners shaped like screws added to the industrial feel, and the chevron striped ribbon from May Arts added a bit of a "Beetlejuice" feel to the card.

The Smeared and Smudged site is offering prizes each day of the month by a long list of sponsors...Dreamweaver being one of them, but we are also offering one stencil to one lucky commenter on the Dream It Up! blog each day of the month! Stampendous: WITCH Do You Love...the Raven or the Rose?

I think that I've enjoyed playing with Halloween in my paper-crafting more this year than any other. Partly, because my Dreamweaver team has been posting with Smeared and Smudged's 31 Days of Halloween for the entire month, which has challenged me to think more outside the "pretty" box. The other reason is that being with the Stampendous team once again, I've had the opportunity to play with creepy and fun images for this holiday. The card that I'm posting today is a mix of both...

The background of the card base has been ink-stenciled with the Dreamweaver Fleur de Lis in Versafine Purple ink, and smudged of course. The focal panel is a mix of medias...the Stone Wall background and Glossy Black-pasted Nouveau Rose from Dreamweaver, the "witchy" Raven embossed in black and the soon-to-be-released-Classic Rose from Stampendous, colored with Copics following the "no line" technique. All of this smeared and smudged, distressed and torn, before layering over a strip of May Arts Jumbo Ric Rac, adding a Stampendous sentiment, and plenty of Fran•tagĂ©-y elements in the way of Color Fragments and Aged Gold Embossing Enamel.

If you haven't  been already, I highly suggest follow the Stampendous team this week by heading to the Stampendous Impressions blog each day to find out WITCH team member(s) is posting their creepy creation(s).

Dreamweaver: Happy HallowThanksMas! - Week Two

Sometimes in the flurry of elaborate projects, we forget how wonderful it is to create something simple and elegant. This card is that example.

The Tole Leaves Square stencil was paste-embossed in gold on ivory cardstock, and once dry, cut into four tiles and mounted on a panel of Bazzill green cardstock. Wrapped with a tied band of May Arts gorgeous ribbon, matted with a thin line of mirror gold cardstock, and adhered to the pumpkin cardstock, the only last requirement was a simple Peel Off sticker sentiment.

What are you creating for Happy HallowThanksMas? Link it to the inlinkz tool at the bottom of this post, or on the Dreamweaver blog. Here's more inspiration from our "B" team:

Dreamweaver: Smeared and Smudged 31 days of Halloween-Day Eight

The Dream Team are dipping their fingers into all things spooky, creepy, and scary, as we play along with the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween. The team will be taking turns to fill the quota of 31 days on the Dream It Up! blog, and posting on their own blogs as well. Be sure to leave them lots of love as this is truly a challenge for many of them! Here is my post for today:

This card got a bit of inspiration from New Orleans, hence the black and lacy umbrella with pompoms and the fleur de lis background. I used the Dreamweaver Umbrella stencil, and paste-embossed it in Matte Black. When dry, I ink-stenciled the Lace Doily stencil with white ink over the top. The background is Core'dinations cardstock, machine-embossed with the Dreamweaver Fleur de Lis, sanded, and distressed. Of course, one of the focal points has to be the Stampendous Skull Roses, stamped and embossed in Shabby Pink embossing powder twice, and layered. Extra roses were created, cut out and adhered as well. The Fright Night sentiment stamped in black was from the Stampendous Tricky Words clear set.

Woodware: Christmas Decor

Anyone thinking of Christmas decorations yet? Possible gift ideas? It's a well-known fact that the months of October through December go faster than the rest of the year! Here's a fun creation for the home or a gift:

I picked up this rusted star hanger from a "big box" craft store on clearance. They were practically giving these away, which makes me wish that I'd bought all of them at the time. Oh, well...

Using Dreamweaver Stencils (Plaid, Damask, Holiday Borders, and Snowflakes Background), I machine-embossed the designs into pieces of Core-dinations cardstock. This paper is designed with a contrasting color "core", so that when you either emboss it or tear it, the other color can be revealed by sanding over the surface with a sanding block...which is exactly what I did. Then I traced the triangle shape on each side of the star onto these pieces, and cut them out, and glued them on.

The hanging sign was distressed with a bit of ink. A strip of burlap was adhered for a more rustic feel. On scraps of leftover embossed paper, die cut, I paste-embossed in Copper the Noel stencil design over four pieces. When dry, I rubbed some ink over the surface to age the letters a bit, and then adhered the pieces onto the sign. I used a fun burlap ribbon to complete the project.

If you don't have a source for the rustic star, HERE IS A TUTORIAL showing how to create one of these star shapes, which you can then adhere your own textured paper, patterned paper, stamped images, paint, glitter, etc.

Dreamweaver: Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween-Day Three

It takes a bit of creativity, but it can be so much fun to think outside of the cute box. Almost any stamp image or stencil design can be creepified if you put your mind to it. This card features the Dreamweaver Gothic Cross ink-stenciled on the inside of the card, along with a stamped and embossed Valentine Kiss from Stampendous, embossed in Aged Black Embossing Enamel. I used a Versamark pen and White EP to create fangs, along with some dripping Glossy Accents with Micro Red Glitter on top. The front of the card is created with Core'dinations cardstock, and a portion machine-embossed with the new Dreamweaver Quatrafoil stencil. The window and the sign were cut using Dreamweaver Nesting Frames. The sign was created by stamping the Stampendous Vintage Alphabet, with clawed through marks from a glue pen and red glitter. "Biting" was die cut with Dreamweaver's Dual Alphabet, and adhered ransom-style. One more strip was stamped with a warning from the Perfectly Clear Stampendous Tricky Words. Everything has been smeared and smudged, and punched dripping blood added for effect along with a section of webby ribbon from May Arts.
