Frosty Fun Finale

Here we are at the final week of December, and the final month of 2012, with all its joys and sorrows. The Dream Team is celebrating one final week of Frosty Fun, and we really want you to play along! Create something with our theme in mind and link it on the mr. linky on the Dream It Up! blog, or email pics to lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com, for an opportunity to win one of two prizes. Those who enter usually have their cards featured on the Dream It Up! blog and/or our Facebook page, which is always fun to see what everyone else is creating.

My creation here featured the Skates stencil once again, and was paste-embossed in silver on a die cut blue panel, to show off the shiny blades. Then I paper-pieced the actual skates in a fun plaid (I love plaid...must be the Scot in me!) The cute sentiment brad moves us away from a Christmas themed card, and just celebrates the fun of playing in the snow and ice.

Blessings to all of you in the new year. May 2013 be bountifully filled with love, laughter, and joy, with only a smidgen of sorrow to remind us of how fortunate we really are, and how important it is to care for those who are not.

Frosty Hearts for the Holidays

Once again, I am reposting a previous creation for the Dreamweaver challenge this month...Frosty Fun! This card is one of my favorites from this year's new designs. The Heart Ornaments was paste-embossed on acetate. When dry, I replaced the stencil over the image and ink-stenciled with Tsukineko Splendor inkpads and a good stencil brush. Then using the tip of a palette knife, I added some fluffy "snow" (regular Embossing Paste), and sprinkled liberally with Crystal Glitter. Remember, you have until the end of December to play along with our monthly challenge. Just add a link to your creation to the Mr. Linky on the Dream It Up! blog, or email us pics of your frosty creations, for an opportunity to win one of two stencil prizes. CAS Frosty Fun

Pulling out another oldie but goodie from last year for the Frosty Fun challenge on the Dream It Up! blog this month. Less than two weeks away from Christmas, this is the perfect set of cards to create...CAS for multiples, and wonderful as a gift set as well.

Featuring the Antler Snowflake design with the Merry Winter sentiment, each card with a slightly different take on the theme. The two vertical cards were paste-embossed with Silver Embossing Paste. When dry, they were run through a hot laminator with silver or turquoise foil for plenty of shine. The carrier sheet from the turquoise one was saved to be laminated onto the square panel of the center card.

The sentiment was paste-embossed on the first card, and machine-embossed on silver cardstock with the other two cards.

The center card was also punched for added interest, and all three cards have additional bling in the form of turquoise rhinestone stickers.

Come play along with our Frosty Fun challenge, and email a link to your own creation, or email pics to lynell@dreamweaverstencils.com, for an opportunity to win one of two great prizes! Frosty Fun...Finally

Yes. It is me. I'm partially back in control of my blog now. Big thanks to Lynell for helping me out the last few weeks. My computer is now finally set up, temporarily in the dining room of our new home until my studio is finished. Sigh. Therefore, nothing new in the world of craftiness will be shown on my blog, so I thought that I'd repost an oldie but goodie from last year.

The Skates stencil was paste-embossed in silver on bright blue cardstock. The frosty background was created using the double glitter technique, but with a mixture of Stampendous Ultra Fine Multi Crystal glitter and Stampendous Cotton Ball Fun Flock. Sparkly ribbon, a metal sentiment, and a Dreamweaver Pearl topped pin finishes off this card...simple, but filled with frosty fun!

Be sure to check out the rest of the team posts this week, as well as the Dream It Up! blog. Come follow along with the team and play along with this month's Frosty Fun challenge. Just post a link to your own creation, or email a pic for us to feature on the blog and/or our Facebook page.
