Stampendous: Feline Fun for Easter

Nothing says spring and Easter like bright and happy colors! One of the best ways to achieve a bunch of those colors is to break out your Stampendous Creative Palette. Squirt some paints, or inks, or dyes, or in my case some Dreamweaver Alcohol inks, on top of it. Thin them out a bit. Swirl them, brayer them, brush them, use them as an ink-pad to stamp designs, or just create a bunch of artsy prints by swirling the new Stampendous Mixed Media white cardstock over the colorful surface. Once dry, they are perfect for stamping the new Pen Pattern Eggs designs over them. Add a stamped Easter basket with the Cling Floral Tapestry Background stamped over it, and a furry friend...the result is PURRfect! This particular fur baby is the Cling Feline Curious, colored with Copic markers, and cut out to hide behind the basket, mischievously breaking open the colorful eggs full of yummy treats. I think he's left too much evidence behind...in the form of Stampendous Color Fragments! At least he's appreciative...he left a nice sentiment from the Perfectly Clear Daisy Thanks set.

Stampendous: Bunny Wuvs Cupcakes

Pammie wuvs cupcakes, too! And apparently, so does Stampendous! All of this week, the Stampendous team are featuring our newest Easter images, including this darling Easter Cupcake. Mine have been stamped, colored with Copic Sketch Markers, and cut out, to be popped up on top of a chartreuse panel stamped in black with the Cling Floral Tapestry Background, and of course, the perfect sentiment for this card from the Perfectly Clear Life Words. Sprinkles of Multi Crystal Glitter were added on top, and in typical Pammie fashion...pompoms for noses!

Be sure to follow the team all of this week for more Easter inspiration, and cute stuff! You can find the links here:

Woodware: Bloomin' Marvelous, It Is!

There's nothing like BIG flowers to celebrate spring with! Especially, Stampendous' Jumbo flowers! This one has been a longtime favorite of mine...the Zinnia, and is still available through Woodware UK! The image was stamped in black ink, and colored with markers before being cut into four tiles and mounted on a white cardstock panel. A panel of the Ornate Border image was stamped and colored as well, and becomes the perfect accompaniment for the large zinnia, especially once a yummy bow and a sweet sentiment have been added. Super simple, and perfect for making in multiples for all occasions. Break out your flowers, and have some fun along with the Woodware team!

Dreamweaver: Marching into Spring, Week Two

Ready for fresh air, sunshine, new leaves, and flowers blooming? Well, the Dream Team is right there with you! Our challenge for the month of March is...coincidentally...Marching into Spring. Per usual, we'd love to have you play along with us, and link your own creations to the Inlinkz tool on the Dream It Up! blog, or at the bottom of this post. Play as many times as you'd like. Those of you who work Dreamweaver and/or Stampendous products into your projects receive bonus points, but everyone has an opportunity to be the winner who receives the stencil of their choice.

Here's my hint of Spring:

I seem to be in a purple mode lately...no idea why. Yes, this is a sympathy/encouragement card, but there's no reason that it can't have a lovely spring tulip on it. Specifically, the Dreamweaver Tall Tulip stencil. It was machine-embossed on a strip of pale lavender cardstock, and brushed with a "striĆ©" technique...which means simply, creating an almost linen look by using a large stencil brush and, in this case, two shades of purple ink (Elderberry and Sweet Plum Memento from Tsukineko®). Ink your brush and swipe it from left to right, and right to left, top to bottom and bottom to top. Begin your swipe off of the edge of your panel. This process catches each side of the embossed design, highlighting it, and giving the impression of truly elegant paper.

The card base was machine-embossed and "letter-pressed" by inking the Crusade stencil before the machine-embossing. This transfers the ink, and embosses the design at the same time. The center panel was done with the same technique, using the Large Scales stencil. This card was finished off with a couple sprigs of May Arts ribbon.

The sentiment is one of many in the Stampendous Perfectly Clear Sincere Sentiments set. This set is one of my favorites as it expresses my thoughts without being sappy. Take a look here:

Stampendous: Yep! I've Got a Screwloose...

I am soooo in love with the new Screwloose and Sparky images from Stampendous. They are being featured on the team blogs all of this week, so I'm showing off my favorite!

I started by creating a Creative Palette print from the new Rectangles set. A bit of cyan and pthalo green tube acrylic were smeared on the palette, along with a bit of Neon Pink and Yellow Radiant Neon inks from Tsukineko. My panel of Mixed Media White cardstock (new product!) was swiped over the inks. Then I used the stamp bits from the CP to use the paint and ink mix to stamp the little squares over the panel, and set it aside to dry.

Meanwhile, I stamped a few of the cute accessories from the Screwloose and Sparky Perfectly Clear set, as well as the clear Steampunk Gears set to add some background images on my blue Bazzill Basics card base in Onyx VersaFine ink. I had stamped one large gear on the edge, so I used this as an opportunity to show off Sparky by punching a hole on the side.

By now the CP print was dry, so I broke out the cute robots images and stamped them in black, along with more of the gears that I used previously. I also stamped Sparky on a scrap, and punched him out to adhere to the inside of the card where I'd punched the hole. However...I didn't just adhere him. I added a "Action Wobble" spring in between so his little head would bounce around on the card. Too cute!

I mixed up a small amount of Dreamweaver Glossy White Paste with a bit of Radiant Neon Green refill ink, and pasted the Dreamweaver Clockworks stencil design over a bit of the panel. This was set aside to dry near my mini fan that I keep on my workspace.

Once dry, the card was assembled, adding a stamped and cut out "monitor" frame over Screwloose for a bit more dimension, as well as a screw brad fastener for one of his eyes.

This set is soo much fun to play with! Don't get the idea in your head that this would only work for little boys. I don't know anyone who wouldn't appreciate a fun card for any occasion with this wacky duo.

Woodware: What's the POINT, Jane?

This week the Woodware team have been challenged by team member, Jane Gill (the Flower Girl), to create something using the pointillism technique made famous by Seurat.
I chose to use the new Dreamweaver Fairy for my version. I traced the inside lines with a gray fine-tipped pen, and proceeded to use Sakura Gelly Roll Glaze and Stardust pens to fill in the color and shading with tiny dots. The background was filled in with sponged clouds using a blue dye-based ink and the Dreamweaver Picasso Tool's scalloped edge side. To add to the "fairy in the forest" look, I added a few die cut Dreamweaver Leafy Branches with a few more ink dots.

Be sure to check back through this past week's links at the other interpretations of pointillism on the Woodware blogs.

Dreamweaver: Marching into Spring!

This is one of my favorite cards. I love the design, the contrast in colors, and the texture.

I started with a panel of white watercolor paper. I smooshed three of the Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko Radiant Neon inks over the panel, and then sprayed over the surface with their Ink Potion No. 9 and let it do its magic. When dry, I sprayed over the surface with their irRESISTible Texture spray in Lulu Lavender. This is not just a mist, it actually leaves texture! Very cool, and easy to mix with my favorite Dreamweaver Memories Mists on a project!
I used the Dreamweaver Stylized Dahlia DIE to cut out the design from the center of my panel. I pasted the dahlia in Matte Black on black cardstock, as well as the sentiment. When dry, I adhered all the parts of the die cut flower on the surface. The paste added to the dimension. I placed the sentiment stencil over the surface, inked with Versamark ink with a sponge dauber, and applied a few colors of Metallic F/X powders. The card base was lovely Bazzill cardstock, machine-embossed with the Dreamweaver Large Scales. Just a couple of scraps of May Arts ribbon, and a few adhesive pearls finished it off.
