For this week's
Stampendous Saturday Sketch Challenge,
Wendy challenged us to create a holiday project, which could be inspired by many of the amazing projects that the designers at
Paper Craft Planet have been posting with
Stampendous holiday for a theme this month. Be sure to visit their site to check out their super clever ideas, as well as the rest of the
Stampendous Design Team as listed at right. Remember, this is a challenge, so play along and post your own creation to one of the online sites (like
PCP) with a link to the
Stampendous Impressions blog. For my project, I started with one idea, and switched gears to create this ornament instead. My inspiration for this actually came from the card by
Laura Frederickson of Scrapnextras, who won the very first
Stampendous "Win Without Warning" contest. Her card used this same stamp, and her coloring was magnificent, so I could only hope to emulate her in that respect. I think I did fairly well. I colored with my Copic Sketch markers, added dots of Copic Opaque White, and
Stampendous glitter (of course). The image was applied to Nestie Scalloped Circle and matted with a black
one. This was repeated with a second set so that I could sandwich a flameless tealight in between. I cut a small hole in front for the bulb tip to stick through, and punched a small hole on the back part of the "sandwich", so that the on/off switch was accessible. I added a ribbon bow and gold cording to complete the look. I think it would be great to hang on the tree, or even the front door as a welcome to guests and family. Each of these tealights has a sixty-hour battery life, and most come with extra batteries. Guaranteed to add extra glow to your holiday projects, without the hazard of a real flame.
