The SHAPE of Treats to Come!

Here we are at three weeks into the Stampendous March challenge...working with shapes! My project today is extremely simple...a sheer covered egg box (picked up at the Target dollar section a couple of years ago) filled with Easter treats, and the tags are simply the Stampendous Cling Egg Trio embossed with Bark embossing powder on fun paper and cut out. A few Pink Dot Sparklers for bling, a cute gingham brad fastener, and the polka dot ribbon that originally came with the egg. No one said that the challenge had to be a shape and be difficult. Since I've been on a CAS (clean and simple) roll most of this month, it works for me! Here are the team players for this week:

Tenia Nelson
Wendy Price
Melinda Gleissner

Remember, you have the opportunity to play along with the Stampendous team and link your shaped creation on the Stampendous Impressions' blog, or on the link at the bottom of this post by April 5th. And as an extra incentive for playing, one lucky person (drawn at random from all the entries) will receive this gorgeous Cling Jumbo Hollyhock Stamp Set:

Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address.  We hope you get a chance to play along with us - happy crafting!

Please note...

If you are here specifically for the Dreamweaver Stencils' weekly post, please scroll down, but do so slowly...Gourmet Rubber Stamps is fun, too!

Gourmet Rubber Stamps is For the Birds!

The Gourmet girls are cooking up a new challenge for the month of March..."For the Birds". There are a large variety of bird and bird-themed images from Gourmet Rubber Stamps. My choice were images from the Lizzie Anne Designs line, "Swirly Bird", "Follow Your Dreams" sentiment, and the music score. I chose to emboss the Swirly Bird on off white Fabriano watercolor paper (gorgeous stuff!), with clear embossing powder. Then I let drops of blue and purple watercolors run over the surface. The clear embossing enamel acts as a resist against the paint drips, and provides a unique look. The sentiment was stamped on Nesties Fancy Labels, and a polka dot ribbon and rhinestones were the embellies of choice.

You will be amazed to view the rest of the team's creations, the Gourmet Rubber Stamps blog, and the site filled with inspirational and fun images. Every birdy loves GRS!

Dreaming of a Chocolate Bunny

Who doesn't love a chocolate bunny for Easter? My CAS card for this month's Dreamweaver Stencils' challenge this week, features the Bunny stencil. I custom mixed some "chocolate" paste by combining some Glossy Black, Glossy Red, and Glossy Green embossing pastes in a tiny dosing cup, and pasted on a chocolate brown cardstock. When almost dry, I applied Gold Leafing over most of the bunny to mimic a chocolate bunny with half the foil torn off, and notice...a giant bite off of one ear! That's where I always started, how about you? I applied a sprinkling of Bark embossing powder and a little more leafing, along with a few chunks of Fresh Green Chunky Glass Glitter for the Easter basket grass. I split up the Hoppy Easter stencil over the top and bottom, and used more of my paste mix. In the end...a CAS card with a sense of humor.

The Dream Team have been challenging themselves this month as well as you:

Feeling Lucky?

Counting down to St. Patrick's day, and I'm feeling lucky...how about you? The challenge this week for the Woodware UK team, was to create with a Good Luck theme. This was more difficult than I thought it would be as I seem to have very little with a specific "luck" them other than the Small Text Peel Off stickers that I used on this card. I ended up creating a very CAS card by machine embossing the Dreamweaver Stencils' Heart Knot stencil on the circle, matting with a scalloped circle, using an embossing folder on the plain recycled green cardstock, and adding some St. Pat themed ribbon that I had laying around. Since this card was so simple to create, it would a great card to reproduce in multiples. Skip the shamrock ribbon, change the colors, and voila! A perfect wedding or anniversary card. Are you feeling lucky this month? Then come play along with the Woodware UK team, and this month's sketch challenge from last week's post. You have an opportunity to win something wonderful! Just check out the Woodware UK blog post for more info, and for more luck-themed creations from the rest of the team.

Lighten Up! It's Almost Spring!

I've been in a seriously CAS creative mode lately, which I think is perfect for Spring. The time of year when you clean out the old and stale and heavy, and break out the clean and bright and light! This card perfectly optimizes this...clean in design, bright in color, and light as only a kite can be! This is one of the new images in the Gourmet Rubber Stamps' March Diner's Club set, "Prescription for Spring", along with the perfect sentiment to go with. I paired it with some fun Pink Paislee paper, "Hometown Summer", added a MS doily border, and some pretty ribbon knots on the tail of the kite. Head on over to the Gourmet Rubber Stamps site for info on signing up for the monthly Diner's Club, and while you're there, check out the Gallery for more creative inspiration.

This Shapes Up to Be a Sweet Stampendous Spring!

Have you checked out the new challenge with the Stampendous team this month!  Each Saturday in March, we'll be challenging ourselves (and you!) to make a shaped card or project - something other than the traditional square or rectangular card. Doesn't that sound like fun?

I created a fun Easter egg-shaped card this week using the Dreamweaver Stencils' Large Egg stencil as my template to trace the shape onto this gorgeous American Crafts' Garden Cage paper. The actual card was made to mat the egg shape with a scalloped edge. I stamped the Stampendous Cling Spring Greeting sentiment with Black StazOn ink due to the glossy sections on the patterned paper. The Cling Feather Bonnet Baby was stamped twice on white cardstock, colored with Copics, cut out, and the bonnet was layered. Multi Ultra Fine Crystal Glitter was added to the chick before popping up the image on the card. I used a few drops of Glossy Accents to adhere the sprinkling of Sage Color Fragments and Fresh Green Crushed Glass Glitter. The fluffy pink ribbon from Creative Impressions was the "icing on the cake" for this sweet card.

Here is a list of the Stampendous team members playing along today:
