Hip Hip Hooray! It's Dreamweaver Stencil's First Blog Hop!

Welcome to the first Dreamweaver Stencil's Blog Hop! Here we are at day three of our extravaganza. If you have been hopping along with us on Friday, October 1st, and Saturday, October 2nd, then you know what I mean by extravaganza! Stenciling is an amazing technique that has been in use for centuries. There's good reason for this...it's beautiful and it's fun! Please make sure to follow all the way through this posting as there will be info on how you can possibly win some wonderful products from Dreamweaver Stencils for your own paper-crafting pleasure.

Here are the three projects that I've created for your inspiration:

Snowy Pine Cone Box of Tags

OUT FOR PUBLICATION!
I'D SAY I'M SORRY, BUT I'M NOT! :)

Noel Elegance

Going in a different direction, here is a beautifully simple card for the holidays, that can be quickly made in multiples and guaranteed to elicit a "Wow!" from the recipient! The white cardstock panel is run through the Big Shot machine. (Tip: run several in a row for multiples.) Then place the stencil back over the surface so that the embossed surface fills the openings, and using the Dreamweaver Stencil's palette knife, smooth Metallic Silver Embossing Paste over the surface. (Tip: Place 3M Removable Tape around edges of stencil to hold in place.) Remove the stencil and allow to dry approximately 20-30 minutes. This part is the most time consuming to do in multiples, but lining them up and doing each one and setting aside to dry will allow you the time needed to complete the rest of the card. Cut and fold the white card. Add the navy textured panel, a print on a red panel, and cut panels to mat the focal point. Once the focal panels are dry, adhere to the mat panels and wrap with a ribbon bow. Finish if off with a rhinestone sticker.

Dreamweaver Stencil's Metallic Silver Embossing Paste (DSP)
3M Removable Tape available from Dreamweaver Stencil's (RMT)
Palette Knife available from Dreamweaver Stencils
Wassau-Blue "Crinkles" Paper
Canson-White textured cardstock (stenciled panel)
Bazzill-White cardstock
Kelly Paper-red linen, metallic silver
ribbon, rhinestone stickers (Michael's)
Big Shot or other embossing/die-cutting machine

Pretty in Pink Poinsettia

Taking you in a third direction, I went for just not-so-plain pretty! However, this time I did a flip...no, not literally...but I ran a white cardstock panel through the Big Shot with this gorgeous Poinsettia stencil and flipped it over. Now the image is de-bossed, with and impression rather than a raised surface. Then I softly brushed Rocket Red Brilliance ink over the surface and around the edges to transfer the color over the veining of the petals/leaves. I used a very fine-tipped glue pen around the veining and sprinkled with ultra-fine crystal glitter. A few pearl stickers in the center then highlight the shimmery quality of Dreamweaver Stencil's Pearlescent Embossing Paste that has been applied to the pink cardstock panel on the front of the card with the Merry Christmas stencil. A sheer pink bow and
one of Dreamweaver Stencil's pearl pins finish off the card that will emit dreamy sighs from the friend or family member that receives it. Maybe not for the burly football player in the family, but someone who loves to be "Pretty in Pink"!

Stampendous Multi Ultra-Fine Crystal Glitter (GM220U)
Rocket Red Brilliance ink from Tsukineko
Bazzill Bling and DCWV cardstock
Sakura Quickie Glue Pen
pearl stickers, organza ribbon

Okay, so you've meandered through the eye candy on my post, now you want to win some blog candy, right? If you have come here from the Dream It Up! blog, then most likely you have read the rules, but in case you haven't, here they are:
1) Hop to each blog, do your ooohing and aaaahing, leave some love (a nice comment...no smooches,  please).
2) Go to the Dreamweaver Stencils online site and select one stencil, one embossing paste, and one Metallic F/X. (Yes, three products...isn't that amazing?)
3) Hop back to the Dream It Up! blog and leave your comment with your selected goodies (along with item numbers, please!) and...
4) Double-check that you have hopped to each blog and followed this procedure (trust me, it'll be worth it!), including the previous two days worth of blogs in case you had something else to do on those days and didn't hop (just what could have been more important? Hmmm? Lol.)
5) Now you wait. Not for long, just until Monday morning when the random spitter will hopefully spit out your name! Then winners will be posted on each of the blogs as well as the Dream It Up! blog so that you can give us the info to send you your fun package! You only have 24 hours to do this before another winner is selected.

Note: In case you are confused, yes you do get to select a different stencil/paste/F/X for EACH blog that you visit! Now I'm no math whiz, but even I can figure that you have a seriously great chance of winning, maybe more than once.

So, let me know what you think of my paper pretties, and follow the directions before hopping to Terrece next, for more ooohing and aaahing! Also, if you have any questions regarding the products and/or techniques that you have seen on any of the Dream Team blogs, please feel free to email us, and we will get right back to you. We love having our brains picked!

Pam all of your projects are fabulous but I really like the gift box and tags I love the way you added the embossing paste and the hint for using alcohol before you run your stencils through the big shot. I also like your use of the poinsettia, I never thought to use the debossed side.

Your cards are all just beautiful and inspiring! I am so grateful for all the tips you shared, especially on the embossing techniques. I especially love the poinsettia card. It is elegant and delicate. I am really starting to love seeing the pearl pins on these projects. Thanks! I am not sure where I am supposed to leave my choices so I will do it with each comment! LJ849 Bare Trees, Metallic silver paste and Moonstone FX.

Love all three of your projects and got great hints from all of your techniques. I never thought of applying the stencil paste over an embossed image and I will have to give this a try as it would probably dry faster without warping thinner cardstock. For my favorites today I would choose LL549 Tall Daisies, Matte Yellow embossing paste and RoseBerry F/X

You are "da bomb"! Beautiful!

I cannot believe I have, with the exception of the pearl pin, all the products needed to make the poinsettia card. What I didn't have was any idea that those products could make something as beautiful as your card! Oh, the ideas are terrific!! My goodies choice would be LG 729 the Coiled Christmas Tree, silver paste, and Moonstone F/X. Thx

I love the poinsettia card. It is stunning. You are so talented. I would never think about using the stencil in this way and it is so pretty. I like the pink! I also love the pine cone stencil and your use of it. I would love the opportunity to have the pine cone stencil and some pearlescent paste to use with it. I also would like to try the eye of tiger mica powder. Would try my hand at making some gift bags to use for Christmas or winter birthdays!

Wow, all three projects are wonderful. I think my favorite is the Poinsettia - very pretty! My choices, if I win, are: LJ831 Ornamental Oval, Metallic Gold Paste & FX01 Gold Dust. I would use this stencil for Christmas using the Gold Paste and possibly Gold Dust FX brushed on while wet, and then maybe some glitter thrown in - all experimental. Linda E.
